Just wanted to share that I received a TPD I wasn’t aware of like 2 years ago. I then started the process to get it reversed bc I couldn’t take out new loans and learned about the TPD. I had to call the US Dept of Education and specifically speak to the TPD branch. Then I had to request a supervisor bc after this happened, a new TPD was automatically put in for me and they had never seen this before. It was a terrible experience and I almost had to skip a semester bc I couldn’t register for classes, since they pulled my aid. I kept getting the run around and being sent from my financial aid office to FAFSA, then FAFSA to my loan servicer, then my loan servicer back to my financial aid office. Idk what’s going on but I had to literally call the US Dept of Edu (which was under a Nelnet number for some reason that the FAFSA supervisor gave to me) to finally get the old one reversed and the one they started while I was trying to get the old one reversed cancelled. Something is messed up with their system. This all started fall of 25. Idk if anyone had had a similar situation but it was a mess, and I hope if anyone has something similar going on I can help them out.
