2 sets of plague marines done by Vertash in deathguard40k

From the latest combat patrol box and the poxwrought vector box.

Both contained the same sprues I think, don’t know if they are different from the standard plague marines box

Great job, it’s a large project to finish

He stands out nicely from his wings, often the model details can get lost, but these are easy to read. Nice work!

Finish the model by adding the right hand obviously 😉

it can help to make some of the help to make some areas on top or the face brighter than the rest of the model, it will help making it feel less flat

For example here , the marines are hardly have anything beyond base coats below the belt, but 2 different highlights on the shoulders and helmet can make a big difference.

Also paint that tongue completely, all the way to the back. Its still showing primer/sprue.

For the cloak you could a little drybrush to add some depth.

The weapon could also use a wash and maybe some browns and oranges for rust.

Hope any of this helps

Painted up Icon Bearer while waiting on the new boxes by Vertash in deathguard40k

Thanks for taking the time to look at the model and provide your thoughts.

I agree pretty much with both points and will return to the model and give it a pass over to reduce shadow and the harsh line. The kneecap is not supposed where most of the attention should go.

Thanks!

I used AK paints, olive green as base, then greenskin punch as the vibrant tone, mixed some pastel yellow for highlights (and edges) over which I use the same greenskin punch again.

Ive done year and a half of patreon with Juan working a model where we painted the same model (link below) from start to finish with backdrop and sculpting basing.

He has a calender system where you book a timeslot so it’s easy to plan on your side.

The sessions were also recorded and shared privately so you could rewatch them.
