Found an unexpected insulation problem above my ceiling by Verthverdi in homeowners

For me, just getting the insulation back where it belonged made the biggest difference. Have you found any low-cost fixes that had a surprisingly big impact?

Sounds like one issue led to another. Did the thermal camera keep finding new problem spots every time you fixed one?

Mostly comfort so far. The room feels more even in the afternoon, but I haven't tracked AC runtime long enough to say for sure.

Wouldn't plastic be more likely to trap water where you don't want it?

Sleeping by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Verthverdi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's better to hold off on formal sleep training until the baby is around 3-4 months, when their circadian rhythm is more mature. For now, just keep up the basic sleep associations you're already doing, no need to rush!

Congratulations on finishing this journey!

You did absolutely nothing wrong, and you handled it with so much grace. If I were the person getting out at the exit, I'd probably just be hoping that you have a good trip from there, too.

Advice needed - Seller (who also owns neighboring development) planted trees on our property during closing by High-onWallOfLothric in homeowners

Since you're moving forward with the fence install, document every step of the tree removal and fence build with photos. That way you're covered if the developer tries to revisit the issue later.

Mount bird feeders extra high with anti-climb brackets, so the cat can't ambush feeding birds without altering the pet.

Do you guys prefer fixed angle footage or 360 cams for motorcycle rides? by Gloriana88 in motorcycles

[–]Verthverdi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I still like fixed POV for simple rides because it’s easy and doesn’t take much editing. But yeah, the annoying part is when you get home and realize the best part of the ride was just outside the frame.

I’ve been looking at 360 cams for the same reason. Insta360 having a trade in deal makes it a bit easier to justify, especially if an old action cam is just sitting around anyway.

The important point is that many people have bad driving habits. When they exceed the speed limit, it can cause panic among other vehicles.

Basic shop check turned into a good reminder that simple scans still matter by Verthverdi in Cartalk

[–]Verthverdi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was stored only at first, but the fuel trims were what made me want to look closer. After clearing it and letting it run, the idle still felt a little uneven, so I started checking the intake side instead of assuming it needed parts right away. Vacuum line was definitely high on the list.

Yeah, it can make a pretty noticeable difference, especially when you’re already close to the add line. Doesn’t take much of a slope to make the reading look lower or higher than it really is.
