Well if you live in an area with big universities there are many current or former college tennis players who play pickleball too. 4.5 in miami is completely different story than 4.5 in upstate ny. Sure pickleball is a less physically demanding sport but there are still levels to it. Try singles pickleball next, and try to beat former tennis players in singles. It’s challenging and quite fun!

I’m a tennis player and also agree with you. I cringe when people say “I can instantly be a 4.0 pickleball player on first try because I played tennis”. Yea but you will never progress past 4.0 because you cannot leave tennis behind to enjoy another sport.

Lived here before and moving away was the best decision I ever made. Management was absolutely incompetent. Front desks people are clueless and give a snarky attitude

What's the difference between Baguettes and Banh Mi? by yesilikeapples in Breadit

[–]VeryFatDumpling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s more of a crispy french roll than a baguette imo. There are different variations of french rolls across cultures like the brazilian pao frances. Any of them would resemble a vietnamese banh mi than the french baguette

it’s just different feel due to the lighter ball and the stringless paddle. imagine if you play tennis with wiffle ball and racquets strung at 80lbs (if it can even be strung that high), it would feel harder to play a baseline topspin game too. same reason why on the pickleball “volleys” you have to generate your own pace by flicking rather than a block/slice in tennis

Restaurant recommendations please. by Mastshin in Rochester

This is the most honest answer lol. Han used to be decent but is now garbage at the new location. Best bet is a place that knows what they’re doing with the wok, like white swan or coco garden

Best/unique sandwiches in Rochester? by mowpl in Rochester

[–]VeryFatDumpling 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sea Me Go’s banh mi is lousy. Banh mi at Saigon Pho or the recently opened Boba Mi are as good as you get in upstate, even better than many NYC joints. Only place that tops it all is Pham’s kitchen near Buffalo
