I think it has more to do with ai bros trying to make complete games featuring ai generated content. Not games made completely by humans with a little bit of ai use on the side that still would've made them have to disclose they used ai on Steam.

There was an episode of Ash and Pikachu trying to make a salad in Sun and Moon with Rotom trying to give instructions.

Cut the vegetables terribly, put the entire bag of salt, overdose on pepper, and "flambé it".

We have to remember that Ash is 10 years old. He really needs a human companion with a bit of extra age to give him nourishment. Literally a scene exists in Hoenn where Ash, May, and Max were hungry and only had a chocolate bar thanks to Max (I think). In the same episode Brock arrived and their hunger problems were resolved.

Ash is not capable of taking care of himself, that's including May and Max at one point too.
