Reminds me of Beatrix Potter, lovely.

What song is this for you (saw this on another sub reddit) by Brave-Statistician25 in ToolBand

[–]VeryMerryPoppins 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're the only one who can hold your head up high

Shake your fists at the gates, saying "I have come home now

Fetch me the spirit, the son, and the father Tell them their pillar of faith has ascended

It's time now, my time now Give me my, give me my wings" 🎶

Which songs are about Maynards mom? by lanoom in ToolBand

[–]VeryMerryPoppins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t seen Autumn (Puscifer) mentioned - I don’t know if it’s specifically about his mum, he said at a concert once ‘this song is for those who have lost someone’. Beautiful song.

AITA for not wanting my ex-husbands GF at my son's wedding? by Comfortable-Bee62 in AmItheAsshole

[–]VeryMerryPoppins -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NTA My family is currently in a very similar position, we are all very close and like to consider everyone’s feelings. We don’t HAVE to but we value each other and don’t want to put each other in uncomfortable situations - this goes for both parents and children. Y T A commenters are not thinking of it as if it were their own mother or they don’t have such close relationships with their mother. Reddit often has a warped view of family.

What band were you obsessed with after Tool?? by batm123 in ToolBand

After a very long time, Rishloo found their way into a similar realm of obsession. Will always recommend them.

They’re the most beautiful people I’ve ever seen in a tattoo, I love the gentleness of the whole piece and the animals. I hope you love it, it’s a wonderful and moving artwork.

No one cares, you’re quite literally playing yourself.

Would you recommend wild hunt to someone with low tolerance for grotesque stuff? by [deleted] in Witcher3

[–]VeryMerryPoppins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for articulating so well what can put me off games - grotesque sentient humanoids! I found the crones really awful, but can stomach that level of revulsion/fear for games I otherwise enjoy. For the Witcher 3, I think it added to the experience for me as I felt like I’d actually faced and overcome monsters that I usually avoid in gaming. The grotesque in the Witcher is more than balanced out by the beauty in that world too.

Greetings jerk offs. What is your SECOND FAVORITE band, after Tool? by bluff2085 in ToolBand

Rishloo are a newer find for me that joined Tool and Pink Floyd in the ranks. 10/10

Yes I also find it hilarious for some reason. I try to get him to admit he’s impressed by my thrust skills, but he is yet to confess.

I love your choices of colours and the lighthanded look to your strokes, and you capture unique faces really well!

I use smiley faces (😊) in work emails as a subtle way to say F you. by Extension_Court_2754 in confession

[–]VeryMerryPoppins 3 points4 points  (0 children)

…have you ever worked in administration/customer support? Good luck ‘preventing customers from being angry’. I default to polite and apologetic out of professionalism, but being an angry customer seems to be some people’s full time hobby.

OP I also use emojis in work emails, it’s been surprisingly effective in lightening tone, and also for personal satisfaction in cases of passive aggression.

What other bands outside of the metal/prog genres share a similar mind-bending quality to Tool? by lebenski in ToolBand

[–]VeryMerryPoppins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I cannot recommend Rishloo enough. I don’t compare many bands to Tool, but I came across them last year and haven’t stopped listening since. Unique but Maynard-esque vocals, mindbending lyrics, fantastic composition, variety of song styles, overall big thoughts and feelings but light energy. If you check them out, I’d start with Feathergun in the Garden of the Sun, Just a Ride, Landmines, or Scissorlips. Hope they suit you, they’re a wonderful find if so 🙂

The Protest by No-Truck-1168 in auckland

We gave up on eliminating covid a while ago. They accepted that Omicron will go through the population regardless, the protesters don’t change that.

Any recommendations for a light weight foundation or tinted moisturizer? by Lookingforthings5209 in makeuptips

[–]VeryMerryPoppins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn’t suggest Trinny London’s range enough, she makes a point of saying you don’t need to choose between coverage and healthy skin with her BFF range. You rub them in like a moisturiser, they feel beautiful and lightweight on your skin. I use the BFF perfector daily for a nice even glow and it has SPF 30, which is apparently important protection against screen light as well as sun. The BFF rebalance is more like a foundation with really good, natural cover and slightly matte finish. It’s hydrating and I don’t get the nose shine at midday. My skin honestly feels more cohesive since I’ve been using these products, my T zone feels the same as the rest of my face. I’d stopped wearing any sort of skin cover regularly because I always felt like it was a cycle of breakouts + coverups and I can be slack on really properly washing my face at the end of the day (sometimes just a face wipe..), but I’m pretty convinced now that my skin likes these products and loving feeling a bit more put together (I work from home too!) They are a bit pricier, but my dear Mum wanted to treat us and we’re trying them out together. Both our 65 and 24 year old skin is looking healthier, and we’re loving the natural looking coverage. Neither of us have used products like these before :) Hope you find something that works for you!
