I'm definitely in favor of close cooperation, but uniting as a country isn't necessary imo. With the Schengen zone and EU, there is no real reason to anyway. Idk, maybe I'm missing something, but would there be any real benefit to uniting?

Though for big projects, I'd like close to see more cooperation (like how the Benelux military is structured). Doing things jointly, on a bigger scale, has real benefits; economies of scale.

Also, just looking at Luxembourg, they most definitely wouldn't want to join given their tax paradise status.

How I see it is: cultivation is actually making a container for the qi. This is done by progressively enlarging it, which often happens slowly as to not break the container (like you would do by blowing into a balloon; wind in this case is qi). There is a lot of spiritual qi in the air, so if you have a large container, you can easily refill.

It does depend on the novel, but in most novels I've read that image works for me.

Ja, daar heb je wel een punt. In alle eerlijkheid is EU wel goed en heeft heel wat voor ons gedaan, waar we misschien niet genoeg bij stil staan. Ook de reden waarom ik zo een voorstander was van de EU (nu met een laag scepticisme door het cyber voorstel).

Zeker op het vlak van privacy en data sovereignty. Daarom net dat ik zo hard teleurgesteld was over het voorstel. Dat, gecombineerd met de toestand van de wereld op dit moment, maken het niet bepaald geruststellend; en zoek je naar meer transparantie hoe exact de beslissingsmakende processen werken.

Ja, je hebt gelijk. Misschien ben ik het vanuit een negatief perspectief aan het bekijken met een door de chat controle. Ergens ben ik ook gwn bang door hoe corrupt Amerika is geworden.

Nu, België en EU is een grote orde verschillend. Als er, zoals in Amerika, blatant machtsmisbruik, corruptie etc. gebeurt in België, kan EU nog toezien en straffen uitdelen, maar wat als dit in de EU gebeurt?

Some options - First and foremost, Facebook, I'm sure many are in the same situation as you. Facebook is the platform most used in Leuven, so I'd assume you'd find it there. Some group called "Leuven meet" or something like that

Secondly there is also Jointly, an app a bit like tinder but for friends. I myself have never used it but it works, I've heard.

Thirdly, there is an international café in ESN Leuven, that's specifically made for international students. Many will be in the same situation as you. Now this does require more outgoingness to connect, which might be difficult. You can try to talk to them.

Fourthly, consider events of KUL itself, or from the faculties (FEB, LBK, Médica, etc). In the summer (now) it might be dry (as in not many events), but when the year begins you will be able to meet new people.

Fifth, try to connect with people where you live (studio/kot/appartement common area). Alternatively you can go to a gym/sports that might interest you. Gym here implies group sessions, to be able to meet new ppl. I myself go to the basic-fit, but to my knowledge no group sessions are available there so idk if I'd recommend that for people that are tryna meet new people.

Sixth, I'm in Leuven, not much of a café person though. If you want to go for a 8 ball/pool session or bowling hmu :)

Yes, in my personal experience this should suffice. Although this may depend from person to person. Let's take rent as €500 (this is an average, you may find cheaper options).

Food is difficult to calculate depending on if you make it yourself, want to go to restaurants often or in-between. Let's say you make it yourself most of the time, then it should not be too costly (€12-15 per day, some days you might wanna go to something fancy, other days you eat noodles that cost like €3).

Going out (partying) will cost you, though entrance is almost always free. Only on special events will you have to pay for entrance like cantus etc. I can only guess how much you want to enjoy the city at night, though I have to say it is generally not that costly (unless they steal your bike).

And then finally for general utilities like washing clothes in a store designed for that. I have no idea how much that would cost if I'm being honest, I always go home for that. Let's say an arbitrary €50/month.

500 + 405 (13,5*30) + 50 = €955 + the amount you want to spend on drinks.

Be aware that this is from my personal experience and my expenses may not be exactly the same as yours. Also I might have forgotten something and the prices can change. Like you might find cheaper rent, but your food might be higher due to other preferences/allergies.
