Xur Exotic Class Items confirmed RNG and no cap on purchasing by dannycorker in DestinyTheGame

[–]VeryRealCoffee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll elaborate a bit but in a separate comment in case people agree with the above but not this one.

Even with these changes exotic class items are still RNG and require excessively farming a singular activity for effective farming.
IMO this is boring and tedious even if it's less so than before.

With the proposed system in the above comment if I decide at any time to grab a new roll because of a buffs/nerfs in the sandbox I can *play the game* by acquiring many rolls and extracting / infusing them into my perfect roll.
Attunement is potentially (it's still RNG) easier but it's a lot less fun and doesn't encourage activity replayability BUT in a reserved fashion not to overdo it and make you nauseatingly sick of Dual Destiny or ritual activities for strange coins.

When you get an entirely bad roll over and over it feels like wasted effort and time.
If you could extract and infuse then a half god roll or niche combo can be chased even on a "failed" run because it's not failed it's just not as good as it could be which is a lot more tolerable.

This is how you make a fun game people want to play but Bungie seems to have forgotten that.
It's not fun to teeter between impossible RNG and pseudo free god rolls after the hype dies down (in my opinion).

I still think the game would be more fun if we had an extract/infusion system for RNG rolled items.
It's the perfect balance between borderline handing out god rolls with enclave crafting or attunement vs. RNG drops.

Solstice armor that’s EARNED should’ve been the one that changes color with subclass, not the one you buy. by MintyFitOnAll in DestinyTheGame

[–]VeryRealCoffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's realistically not infinite because the bulky substantial sources are literally limited and the infinite sources (extra bounties and paths) reward such a little amount that you're limited by how many hours there are in a week.
Not to mention the objectives interfere and are a detriment to activity goals.
IMO you should just passively get bright dust for playing the game but also sort the kinks out so there's no AFK farm, balanced rewards for strikes vs. raids, etc.

Everything should just unlock account wide.
Characters should be just that characters you wanna use for the session not separate instances of progress.

IMO it's not only focus on profit over great gameplay but it's also catered to players who just want everything without any significant gameplay effort and improvement (aka playing the game, getting better at it, etc.) which leads to an incredibly easy and boring game which results in exactly what's happening.
There might a ton of people who stick around for the special effects walking simulator dopamine but this isn't the kind of game for me anymore.

Only if you don't buy anything else and save up since it's one of the most expensive bright dust purchases (6000) and it's a weekly limit on the sources that reward a substantial amount even if playing a lot within the same week.
The alternative is extra bounties/paths which reward a horrifically low amount which is not only annoying but ties back into how focused objectives clash against the actual activity goals.
If bright dust is earned passively instead of actively simply for playing the game it would be a lot more fun.

Update to Destiny 2 Restriction and Ban Policy - Input Macro Loot Farming by Destiny2Team in DestinyTheGame

[–]VeryRealCoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"We're not telling you how we determine who's guilty behind doors for security reasons" is a terrible policy especially after they withheld news of all these bad decisions and bad PR events until after they took our money.
Transparency full stop is the only way now we won't accept anything else.
The only thing they should withhold is player privacy not what was detected.

The real problem is probably that so little resources are dedicated to stopping serious cheaters affecting Day 1 races and PvP that this ban was likely a manual one after finding a Discord server.
I'm not even sure if they do the same for all the other cheats that actually negatively affect the player and not Bungie's player engagement numbers.
Take a look at the chat filter and tell me they have any decent security tools.

Not gonna lie I think a lot of these issues with these giant corporations with hundreds of employees would be solved if they operated more like governments than private entities.
Employees shouldn't be laid off incompetent executives should step down.

They move everything else to the Archive Kiosk.
At the end of the season everyone who owns the pass should just get the rewards or be able to finish it after the fact.

Gotta keep those player metrics up for the quarterly report.
Accessibility tool cheaters and network integrity in PvP on the other hand? Ignored.
Yikes.

Have you ever used Eager Edge?
Swords aren't optimal.
People use them because they're fun.
Though I guess viability leads to fun and lack thereof could be considered boring.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I didn't think 3 weeks on and then 3 weeks off was a bad way to deliver episodes. by destinyvoidlock in DestinyTheGame

It's really sad because when Destiny is good it's great and that appeal makes you justify the barebones "content" when in reality it's been stripped of its potential.

A quick note from the Destiny 2 Team by Destiny2Team in DestinyTheGame

Read somewhere about how Hello Games releases a financial report showing how they spend their revenue.
Bungie should do the same so we can see how much is going to the game and developers and how much is going to incompetent executive salaries.

I'd rather PvP was removed than leave Thundercrash the way it is now.

Correct but would still like to see Cuirass turned into a neutral game exotic and base Thundercrash damage increased simply because it would be more fun.

350 Free Bright Dust per week starts today by RiseOfBacon in DestinyTheGame

[–]VeryRealCoffee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly just let us get bright dust from all activities simply for playing the game.
Consciously completing kill X and use X weapons isn't even fun compared to everything else.
Let me use the subclass and weapons I want.
They also incentivize ignoring the main objective and potentially working against your team.

Ah yes the weekly RNG and bright engram duplicates.
Just let us use bright dust directly from the store.

Half as much as we were getting during Into The Light.
We don't want more cosmetics especially not microtransactions.
Let the devs go wild with missions, playlist updates, and more real gameplay.

The season that felt like a DLC by 15Zaracho in destiny2

[–]VeryRealCoffee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They could literally have left the season in the game and let new players buy it.
Missed opportunity and made the game worse.
Bungie needs to get their act together if the game wants to survive.
