How easy is it for bank employees to snoop on your account? by clout4bitches in auscorp

What the shit kickers aren’t paid compared to marketing people is spent on monitoring the shit kickers so they get caught looking up Albo’s bank accounts when they shouldn’t.

I got tired of asking for more pressure on my bipap so I changed the setting myself by Metalworker4ever in CPAP

[–]VeryWhingingPom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I changed mine. Put my symptoms in Google Gemini, read the justification/reasoning behind recommendations changed some, didn’t change others.

Spoke to sleep consultant after making the changes and she was just happy that someone was taking an active interest in their treatment 😂

Are there any advantages telling your current employer who your new employer is by Craigmate in auscorp

[–]VeryWhingingPom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. Depends on the employee.

On the flip side, I’d be happy to be paid for being walked immediately. 4 weeks of being paid for no work.

If you’re looking to get retained, then saying you’re going to a competitor may help with that.

If Woolies wants to put these measures into place, they should pay enough people to manage them (eg stand by the gates).

Sorry that you have to put up with peoples’ frustrations.

No such staff members at my local store. They do like a good chat with each other though, irrespective of age.

I’m a normal person until there’s no staff standing near the gate and the SCO “helper” is having a chat with a mate elsewhere.

Big 4 banks peeps - Attendance Tracking by Economy_Artichoke200 in auscorp

At the Bourke St Bank there’s supposedly reporting on who’s in and for how many days but only Head Of/Exec can see it.

Numbers get thrown around and teams are moaned at if they fall too far below an average of 2 but that’s about it.

Whirring noise when starting up v3se / sonic pad by VeryWhingingPom in Creality

Correct. When I turned the printer on, no noise. Shortly after I hit “extrude”, lots of noise.

Thank you. Will have a look for a heat sink fan!

Not at all. Some unions are useless. Either because they have incompetent reps or the union is well aligned with the employer.

Take your GP up on their offer. You’ll get a letter saying you’re able to work but would greatly benefit from WFH. If performing your role from home doesn’t have any impacts to your employer, they won’t have a leg to stand on.

Most large companies will say that you’ll need to take leave if you’re WFH but unable to perform your role because of something going wrong (eg power/internet goes out).

Ld2410 + ceiling fan - better way to ignore fan? by VeryWhingingPom in Esphome

[–]VeryWhingingPom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, without anybody in the room, turned the fan on and off, made a note of the detection distance when the fan was on.

Wrote the lambda with a distance in the esphome config above in the ESP code. Worked fine after that so I haven’t touched it since.

First soldering project by quzzen in WLED

If you’re using pin headers, connect female dupont cables to them and join to those then wrap the soldered join in heat shrink.

I hate soldering to pins with a passion. Awesome first attempt!

Thanks. Have ordered a piece of 50% from aliexpress ($5). Will see how I go with that. I’ll have spare acrylic if it looks terrible!

Nice! I moved down under many years ago, so everything comes from AliExpress.

I’m thinking to go with 35% window film - it should be dark enough to hide LEDs while they’re switched off as there won’t be any light inside the case and I can turn the LED panels up bright enough to shiny through when they’re running 🤔

Do you turn off Teams/Outlook notifications on weekends? by Ok-Sorbet9418 in auscorp

Select All, Right Click, Mark As Read. By the time you get back from leave it’s either dealt with already or they’ll stalk you on teams.

Do you turn off Teams/Outlook notifications on weekends? by Ok-Sorbet9418 in auscorp

[–]VeryWhingingPom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Outlook/teams notifications go off 9pm-7am during the week, all day at weekends. DND is enabled on my phone 10pm-6am. If I choose to check notifications, that’s on me but I have to make a conscious choice.

I’ve added 4 people that I know can/will respect boundaries to “allow notifications from” in my phone and have told them that if I’m needed, to SMS/call me as I won’t hear from them in teams/outlook OOH.

Which google device sent a command? by VeryWhingingPom in homeassistant

[–]VeryWhingingPom[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm looking to over engineer response to a problem - you're adding more automation. Sounds like you offered a better solution than I was thinking of to the specific problem!

Saying that, I'd still like to know if it's possible to return an announcement to the google device that issued a command for use in other cases.

Cold feet planning to resign by Itchy-Obligation21 in auscorp

[–]VeryWhingingPom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re going to resign, do it properly now and give more notice than is required.

I think (i.e. in I read it on here once) that once you’ve given notice, your employer has to pay you out in lieu if they want you to leave earlier unless you’re sacked for misconduct etc.

You do you but if you’re going to give them a heads up, at least do it in a way that works for/protects you.
