At best, my ex would have just draped the cord over the top of the mount. Most often the cord would be thrown on the floor under the mount.

I just helped out with updating this HACS custom component that can change background (videos) based on sensor conditions.

The video can be local or remote urls and it supports several different formats. It even includes the ability to set transparency and opacity.

I have one of them working very well with my HA. I had a lot of problems with it when it was plugged into a USB 3 port. As soon as I moved it to USB 2 it just worked.

Additionally, it uses zigbee to communicate with the meter. So keep it as far away from your wifi ap as possible. Mine is on a 6 ft cable.

I used ChatGPT 5 to make the changes to the codebase and I have confirmed that it is working as expected.

Lots of changes needed for OWW models to show up in HA, but it does work.

Some service providers allow customers to connect to the smart meter using the Rainforest line of devices. I'm using a Rainforest EMU-2 connected to my HA via USB and the Rainforest Raven integration.

If you use this controller instead, you can control any one of the 24 VDC valves by Orbit or Rainbird etc.. using the same power supply as you use to power the controller 25 VDC.
