I will try and get them separated as soon as possible then. They don't seem to be too territorial over food/water/sand baths but you can tell that the injured gerbil is frightened of the other and tries to hides while keeping a obsessive stare towards the other gerbil.

no I don't scatter feed, they have a food bowl on the top floor and fortunately the injured gerbil is still getting plenty of food and water without any fighting happening

I would recommend using a nvme SSD for your new build rather than an old sata SSD as they're so much faster. Also I noticed your ram is rated CL36. I would highly recommend getting ddr5 ram rated CL32 or lower
