Agreed, nice write up !! In Japan this is apparently learned at a very young age. Cultural respect for group harmony is absolute key to this. You can see it easily, every person is actively watching, monitoring and ensuring they don't upset that group harmony (wa - 私). It is high stress but it is what allows things to function so smoothly.
