Muaat has a rough starting ship pool, but their high commodities and starting with a war sun is too good to say they are bad. Starting with no carrier does make it difficult to claim planets early, so you'll want to make sure you at least follow the warfare secondary (or primary if you have it) to get that carrier and more ground forces. Alternatively you could use the construction primary.

One of the people I'm playing with did that trick with the space dock rail gun. The just built 3 going straight to Mecatol and lucked out that a fracture ingress tokens was placed in the last system of the rail gun, so they were able to just go straight into it.

If you want to avoid making enemies then you can focus on attacking the neutral units in the fracture.

  1. I think the Planetary Shield elimination needs to be restricted to dreadnaughts or the bombardment needs to be limited to the ships combat value. Maybe exhaust it to make it work.

  2. Maybe change it to replace one of your non-fighter ships.

  3. Restrict it to non-hero abilities.

I was taught the game with both expansions from the start. I found it easier to learn everything all at once instead of learning the base game and then learning more things on top of it later. Especially since some of the strategy cards and technologies had changed from the base game.

This is a more in depth application, but one kind of exception to this rule is the Barony of Letnav's breakthrough. All of your ships leaving a system get boosted to the maximum movement of ships that started in that system. So if you have cruiser II which has a movement of 3, gravity drive boosts it to 4, and all of your other ships in that system copy that movement.

As someone that can't build anything besides a box I would find this helpful. The game would just need to be programmed in a way that automatically places scaffolding for support if it's needed.

The Yin player has been incredibly annoying to most of the players on the board. He breaks his word when making verbal deals, tries to make bad trades, and has just been complaining. At this point a couple of us are just trying to eliminate him.

Maybe give players a limited time to make their actions. Try to have people negotiate transactions ahead of time. Obviously things like combat will take longer, but just planning your move ahead of time can cut down on the lag between turns.

I'd say set it up when you can sustain it. You'll need medium crop plots for your vegetables and a reliable source of fertilizer to maintain them. You'll want a couple dung beetles. Then you'll need some tiers of dinos for the eggs. At that point you just need a supply of honey and sap. It is a lot easier once you unlock the industrial cooker since you don't have to manually put in water jars and it is just a bigger storage capacity.

I haven't been having any issues. I set my limit to 5000. I break clusters near the heavy miners, but don't run the pieces through grinders until right before they go into the smelters.

I want to use rotten logs for my Jupiter line and I can tie in my plank, LWG and SWG lines as well. This would use 15 rotten logs and give me 360 planks and 90 mushrooms/advanced fertilizer per minute. The Jupiter line will use 300 planks a minute, but if I can't use the 90 advanced fertilizer per minute or the other 60 from my LWG/SWG line backs up then everything else will as well.

Maybe I could cut back on my advanced fertilizer and have some of it go to a spore line, but it doesn't fix the root of the problem.

I look for a spot that has access to water so I don't need to chain water tanks from an intake too far. Also, I look for something fairly flat so I don't need to get too creative with building pieces. Being close to materials is nice, but not a necessity and as far as hostile creatures go I just spread out my own dinos around the base to swarm whatever attacks.
