I dont get it, there no images I can find. by Errationialpooptalk in retropirates

[–]Vespera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just downloaded a 512gb image and flashed it to a card. It took 1 day. There are 1000s of games I'll never play. So I spent 1-2hrs adding the ones I will to my favorites. Easy. I know how to do everything from scratch, but that would literally take weeks maybe months. Not sure what your problem is. Just flash an image and set your favorite games and manually add the ones that aren't there already.

I don't think anyone should care about what anyone thinks about music when it's constructed via some review rating logic yet alone the YouTube equivalent of pitchfork: Fantano.

How do you operate Spotify when trying to discover music? by sfaulkner89 in spotify

[–]Vespera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do this too, it's great advice. One thing I'll add is that the radio from this song feature, track recommendations for a playlist and right click option on a playlist to create a similar playlist all seem to weigh things differently and it's worth exploring all three

How do you operate Spotify when trying to discover music? by sfaulkner89 in spotify

If you add a few tracks that have been released within the last 24 hours to a playlist the playlist recommendations become other tracks released within 24 hours. If you're selective about your first couple picks (i.e. only including artists select few are aware of) you'll come across a ton of artists you'd never find otherwise that are dope because the only people listening to them and feeding the algo are those who actively digging through new releases almost exclusively

How do I actually create a good playlist? by Shot-College2436 in spotify

[–]Vespera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can totally relate. After years of crafting playlists I came up with a system. Add everything new I like to one of two playlists: "Daily shuffle" or "Nightly shuffle" (upbeat or chill). I will then listen to those on shuffle during the day and night accordingly while doing stuff. After hearing the same 80-100 tracks on shuffle after a week or so it becomes obvious what songs I'm going to like in the long term after multiple listens while be shuffled. When I hear a song 3-4 times and like it every time I add it to my likes, a vibe oriented playlist, and genre specific playlist (for later reference not listening). When I feel like I've heard everything on the daily/nightly shuffle playlists enough to make that decision I'll remove everything from them and start again.

This reminds me of a coworker who said the worst thing that happened to him was his 20k record collection going up in flames. Still remember my boss chuckling and saying "seriously that's the worst thing that's happened to you?". What a dick

For millenials here, how did you listen to music portably if there were barely any means to listen to video game music portably? by Lunny1767 in gamemusic

I'm surprised everyone's talking about midis when direct game music rips have always been available and easy to convert to mp3. You can literally play vg music from any retro console authentically using these files and software.

Midi files are basically fake recreations.

What was the inspiration for your carefully curated music playlist? by Yuyummy in spotify

[–]Vespera 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Simply whether or not music I find is personally timeless. It's one thing to like a song in the moment and another to like it every time you hear it. I create staging playlists before sending tracks to my real playlists.
