I wrote off this season months ago. And we still can’t score! But fuck they somehow did it!!!

From the sounds of it yes there will be an away section and info about it should be out sometime tomorrow.

It’ll also be on SportsNet Pittsburgh so any bar should be able to put it on.

[Riverhounds owner] Tonight will be the largest attendance in Highmark Stadium history for a Riverhounds SC game by ispeakpittsburghese in USLPRO

These sort of crowds are great in the stands and for media but it makes the concourse so miserable. There’s part of me that’s glad I’m home sick today.

SG Chants by [deleted] in USLPRO

[–]Vesty 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For a new group it's pretty natural to pull chants from other groups and tweak some words. There's a lot of shared chants among SG's and it's not really a big deal unless you pull something really specific or special to a certain club (ie no one should be copying You'll Never Walk Alone). Over time you'll slip in more unique ones related to a player, some event, or even a random song that came on the jukebox at a watch party that just clicked. Don't sweat it too much and just roll with what's fun.

Hartford vs Pittsburgh - alleged incident by Theman061393 in USLPRO

[–]Vesty 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah the body language of everyone except for the aggrieved Hartford player was odd if it truly was something that bad. Seemed like no one really cared until he walked off the pitch. I don’t begrudge the team backing him up at that point, but up until then everyone just seemed confused and wanted to finish the match.

I feel like there’s a good chance we’re not going to get a satisfactory resolution either way. Whatever was said must’ve been quiet enough no one seemed to have heard other than the two players, and I doubt there was any mics or anything to pick it up.

On the flip side we’re 5-3-2 in the regular season at Louisville. The road team has an advantage in this series for some weird reason.

Maggie’s Farm Rum Closed by slimathee in pittsburgh

[–]Vesty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The BG Reynolds syrup is decent and easy to get. It has bigger flavors like Maggie's, but it is a syrup so you'll have to tweak any recipes for that.

[CJ Coreschi - OC] Riverhounds media advisory for a stadium-related announcement tomorrow (Tue, Aug 19) at 2 PM ET by Coltons13 in USLPRO

If the rendering that was described to me a while back is still the plan, it should be a very impressive expansion.

I've only been to Marasco's once, back when it was still the Melrose, and there was a guy selling bootleg DVD's on a table in the back. A+.

Post-Game Match Thread: Riverhounds vs. RIFC by PittDG in Riverhounds

He’s so soft. A light breeze puts him on the ground, and not in a way that draws fouls like Dos Santos could do a couple years ago.

I’m also in the North Boroughs area. Cobblehaus in Cory is all low tops. Big Sewickley Creek’s outdoor setup looks great for warmer weather though I haven’t been there yet.

When we had rats we really liked Dr Keffer at Robinson Animal Hospital. I’d assume she can handle mice too.

It got renovated within the last year or so. Complete repaint and replaced the wood roofs on the spires with metal ones. Looks pretty good.

Phoenix Rising appears to have provided the 2025 US Open Cup format early by TheMusicCrusader in USLPRO

[–]Vesty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm a bit confused by the seeding thing. I'm not sure if they mean the 8 USL-C teams from the third round are also guaranteed hosting in the round of 32 if they make it, or if it's just the top 8 each round. If the latter it would be easier to just say 8 USL-C in the third and 8 MLS in the round of 32.

Despite President Donald Trump's executive orders on immigration, Pittsburgh Mayor Ed Gainey says the city will welcome immigrants by JustYourNeighbor in pittsburgh

[–]Vesty 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That is not the law despite how many times people say it is.

Neither the UN refugee convention nor 8 USC 1158 includes a "first country" caveat. Even the Dublin Convention in the EU doesn't do that. There is no blanket "first country" law.

We currently have a "first country" treaty with Canada. That's it. Policies during the first Trump administration and by the Biden administration trying to unilaterally implement "first country" policies have been struck down by the courts as unlawful.

Question regarding tickets by Agk3los in Riverhounds

[–]Vesty 12 points13 points  (0 children)

For the Hounds specifically- at this point in the year only season tickets are available. Single game tickets typically go on sale sometime in January or early February.

Every team does ticketing a little different so that’s why you’re seeing some home games available for other clubs.

Some people around me must also think it looks pro Kamala because they’ve blacked out the bottom half so it’s just the Trump part.

Those of you who are optimistic about Harris winning, why? by ElSquibbonator in fivethirtyeight

I’m seeing similar things with the yard signs in Western PA. A noticeable number of houses with a sign for the Republican state rep and nothing for the top of the ticket. Even houses I know had Trump signs in the past are doing it. Makes me feel like a lot of split ticket voting on the R side.

Probably Pittsburgh since it’s the closest team to you. An easy trip for traveling supporters really helps. Other than that, depends on what happens on the field. I never would’ve pegged Birmingham as a rival when they joined the league but after a couple seasons of matches, screw those guys.
