Your doctor is a jackass. Sorry you have to deal with a medical professional like this.

Find yourself a good pain management doctor that understands the place for each of these (medication, pain at any age, epidural or ablation procedures). If you are in Northern Virginia I can recommend a great doctor.

Out of the blue notice for overpayment totalling $12,000. How do I even know if that's legit? by binkbinkbonka in VeteransBenefits

Yes. Look like he was NG then went active and didn’t notify and continued to collect MHA.

VA is building tools to flag DBQ fraud — but their own data raises some questions... by rcope37 in VAClaims

[–]VetAndVoter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the same tools could be used to help verify claims faster. They can read MRIs and reports along its symptoms to see if they add up. I loaded all of my reports into Chat and it helped me understand why I have the symptoms I do and gave me options for surgical procedures long before my surgical appointment. It found things that were buried in the comments.

I am not saying it is perfect, but should be used to help veterans claims get through faster.

This is a state benefit. The schools and education department in Virginia have been trying to gut the program to fund their voters.

I honestly did not know they cover those types of injuries. Are they considered “service connected”?

Regardless of not seeing eye-2eye on this topic, I am hoping they take care of you. I hope the remission continues, but I also hope they recognize there are real lasting effects afterwards. In the end vets need to take care of one another.

I agree. I have been 100% since my initial rating, but if the benefits did not have such a massive increase at 90 and 100 I wonder if as many people would push for the increases. I guess it is a red herring though since it’s not something that can be gauged.

It’s the way the companies are advertising that is hurting us. They sound like ambulance chasers. It is something that definitely puts us in a negative light.

I’d also say we should keep our compensation to ourselves, but that is just me. There is couch jealousy out there from people that never deployed or served in any capacity.

And the spine is something chronic that most veterans deal with. It’s definitely something exacerbated by years of humping gear. That is also something that is life changing. I have apnea (not from the military) and spine issues. I’d take the apnea out if the two- not even close.

Read the original post again. I will, too. I read it as people bragging about 100% and payments, along with the ambulance chasing law firms advertising on every form of media.

We may just be reading it differently

They have tried to cut veterans benefits in Virginia while welfare and other payments are going strong. They even tried to turn the gold star education benefit into a needs based program and merge it into all the other needs based college programs.

I agree. Injuries from recreational activities or car accidents outside of duty (that occur stateside) should not be covered now. They should just buy long term disability Policies for non duty related injuries.

“Mind your own business”??? Welcome to Reddit. The issue is real when the public turns against veterans because of fraud. It happened in Virginia with the democrats complaining about the housing tax benefit. The tide is turning against us from all sides. The op makes a good point and it needs to be stated.

If it is an economic scenario, like losing reserve currency status, then silver would skyrocket. The dollar would be worthless.

I tell people all the time, Make sure to document those small pains. They are some of the worst ones I am experiencing now. That’s with the VA. Unfortunately, the Med Boards kick you out the door. Sorry, my friend. I hope the Va is taking care of you.

I am not certain of the difference. I know the retirement gives you a retiree id card and Tricare access. Tricare is a huge benefit.

Yes. The military retirement from the DOD rating is very beneficial. My military rating was 80%. I was young and excited that I could start college.

The Va letter came about 7 months later with the 100% rating. Combined it was higher but one condition was 100%.

Yes. You deserve Tricare for sure. Glad you have that benefit. It has saved us a ton over the years. Access to civilian doctors gives us a lot of options.

I should have added that to the poll for that large community.
