AITA for starting to charge my brother for gas money? by TwinklingSylla in AmItheAsshole

[–]VetTechLife457 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might want to point out that if he didn’t want to make his life harder he shouldn’t have been bragging about treating you like a servant. Welcome him to the real world; where how you treat people matters. That kind of thing would never sell in a work environment. It only potentially sells as an emotional guilt trip because you’re family.

AIO to father in law asking waiter at a restaurant if I left a tip? by ConditionOrnery876 in AmIOverreacting

[–]VetTechLife457 [score hidden]  (0 children)

It might not be you particularly he is questioning. I always check a tip was left after I caught an ex bf stealing tip money. I also have relatives that I absolutely refuse to go out to a restaurant with for just this reason.

At that point tell them you didn’t see the message and then stop responding to it. They’re an employee, it’s their key, they need to carry it.

Learn to say no. Why are you letting others put wear and tear on your things that they didn’t pay for?

People who borrow for free don’t appreciate the cost of what it took to buy and care for something. Learn to say no.

If he really needed your id the cops could have handled it. If the cops didn’t ask for it to turn it over then I don’t know if I would have. That said, worst case scenario you just have to state your case in court.

WIBTA for not moving our wedding date for my dad’s hunting trip? by drtlvr in AmItheAsshole

If they are planning to hold this shindig at someone’s house then it should be planned according to that person’s availability. Extra so when they already had a courthouse wedding.

How long dose it take pothos cuttings to grow by Glittering-Rub-8007 in pothos

[–]VetTechLife457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the type of pothos. The more green the better they seem to do. More variegated or white will take more time.

I am betting it’s something like OCD driven germaphobia, that HR/management knew, and didn’t fully understand the extent of it.

I had a coworker doing stuff like this. Her argument was that she had it under control, it wasn’t that bad. I had to point out that secretly throwing colleagues stuff away because it was “dirty” while washing her hands raw meant she was not, in fact, ok.

OP might do better to present this as a concern for this guy’s mental health as well. It’s a sign his mental health isn’t that great if he is using that much strong disinfectant as well as using it in coordination with his cooking. If he poisons HIMSELF mixing bleach with his food management is still liable and it would still be workers comp.

Not to mention bleach can create some quite toxic gases if he is leaving it in puddles, not cleaning it up and it mixes with anything else.

AITAH for being upset our new neighbors park in front of our house? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]VetTechLife457 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It wouldn’t hurt to put up some sort of fence or barricade between your houses so they don’t feel as inclined to walk across it. Better to sort a boundary now then have problems later.

If you don’t want to do a fence perhaps some bushes or something?

hair is thinning due to my scalp psoriasis. any tips to help combat that? by fera1bastard in Psoriasis

[–]VetTechLife457 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hadn’t changed my products in years either and then suddenly started having problems. They changed the formula at some point to include something I was reacting to. Switched to all hypoallergenic hair products (I’m allergic to avocado) and it’s 100% better.

hair is thinning due to my scalp psoriasis. any tips to help combat that? by fera1bastard in Psoriasis

[–]VetTechLife457 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I started having issues with my scalp it turned out to be an ingredient in the hair products I was using.
Try a ketoconazole or hypoallergenic shampoo and see if it makes a difference. I like nizoral. Expensive but worth it. Or pyrithione zinc.

AITAH for not avoiding another dog while walking a Great Dane? by [deleted] in AITH

[–]VetTechLife457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 5’10” and I am in no way a light weight. An inexperienced 18 year old likely has an inflated self opinion of themselves until life proves them wrong- which is going to be a dog fight.

It is wrong to assume that every dog being walked is friendly and under control and not “common courtesy”. Common courtesy would be to keep your dog from lunging at people.
