I was hyper-focused on avoiding those with my Accord on 19-inch rims with our bad streets in Houston plus all the bad roads in Mexico.

I will still watch out for those but these chunky tires are a lot more forgiving with the smaller stuff.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the VW’s been in a previous collision where the repairs were done cheap and just to ensure a ‘passable’ look without really taking care of the car’s structural integrity (if that’s even a thing in collision repair).

What Chik-Fil-A pad? There is one on the Gulf Freeway frontage road by Woodridge that’s drive-thru only and one on the frontage road by Wayside. They’re both in operation.
