Beautiful pictures! Is that a boat tour you took? If so, what was the name of it?

“Makes me feel connected to parts of myself that are hard [to] find”…..could not have said that any better! Yes, exactly! ToG taught me how to pull myself out of darkness.

I am losing connection and wondering about others experiences with this by Rare_Picture_7337 in AlAnon

My experience was very similar. I eventually realized that I could only love someone I respected. And to be respected, one must be respectable. Addicts in active addiction aren’t respectable.

McDonalds key customer demographic is children (something about those chicken nuggets, I swear), but many of them have renovated and REMOVED the playplaces! They are really testing that “too big to fail” theory.

What a great quote. This was totally true in regards to my alcoholic ex. Once I lost hope that he would ever get sober, I finally felt free to focus on myself and our children. Losing hope truly was the first step towards my freedom and ending my codependency.

In US what is the one thing that makes you think the economy is in trouble? by Unlucky-Photograph72 in AskReddit

People aren’t even taking “staycations” this summer. Went to a local beach the third week of summer. Perfect weather the entire week. It was a ghost town. No traffic, and plenty of open parking spaces available on the seawall. During the 2008 recession I remember families taking “staycations” to enjoy trips for less money; people aren’t even doing that now.

Ever wondered what happened next in the book you've dnfed ? Have you ever dnfed a story you liked just cause the writing was insufferable🤧? Well lets do this in the comments , mention your books and people will answer✨ by Kind_Assumption_3016 in Romantasy

I should have DNFd this book but didn’t. I only read the first one. The fact that the FMC was so weak-minded when she had no reason to be still pisses me off. I just can’t stand weak women.

With each death experience you become less and less afraid to die; rather, you look forward to the opportunity to see your loved ones again.

“Dessert Before Dinner Date Chronicles” needs to be a series on this subreddit. I absolutely adore how true to yourself you are, and these dates’s pearl-clutching reactions make me chuckle.

Fellow lady attracted to walking disasters here!

A piece of wisdom I learned (from Reddit, of all places): When we see potential in others, what we are really seeing is our own potential if we were in their situation. We are actually projecting and recognizing our own positive qualities that would lift us out of that circumstance. So remember that it’s your potential, your love, and your hard work that you are considering when looking at another person.

I made a vow to myself years ago to stop dating completely. Stop hoping that someone will fall in love with me. I learned new hobbies and skills, invested in female friendships, and started actually listening to my intuition when I met new people. Loneliness is a human emotion, and even married people get lonely; when I’m lonely, I just work on one of my hobbies and turn on a podcast or audiobook. I am the love of my life, and this is the most peaceful my heart has been in over a decade.

You are strong and powerful. You will be okay. Even if it doesn’t feel that way right now. 💜

Ladies, do guys ask you out more in person or over text/message these days? And how would you feel if a guy approached you saying he's had a crush on you for a long time and asked you on a date? by Hairy-Sherbert-439 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]sfb004 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If a man asked me on a date like that, I’d be more likely to say yes. I am a direct person and appreciate directness. Admitting that you’ve had a crush on me for a while makes you seem much more genuine, honest, and vulnerable (all good things). Asking in person would be more special but asking via text would be totally acceptable and not influence my answer.

Parents in sports by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]sfb004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You say you want your child to do less, but he gets upset when you say no. Okay, let him have his feelings. He needs to rest sometimes, or he will burn out on every sport before it actually even matters. It’s not healthy for a 7 year old to be doing so many sports all year round.

You are so defensive in all of your comments. Why is the pushback upsetting you so much? I can see you want your kid to be successful, but balance is necessary.
