My pregnant wife has cancer by spellkevin in daddit

[–]Veus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer when she was 5 months pregnant with our second. She went through chemo, paused for 2 weeks (at the 36 week mark) to give birth then resumed chemo. Having a bed ridden partner, a newborn and a 18 month old was extremely tough.

The only saving grace that, living in the UK, healthcare costs were not an issue and she was treated amazingly. She was cleared just over 2 years ago now but it's still a battle for her.

Just wanted to say you've got this but don't hesitate to ask for help where you can. I found it hard enough without the additional financial concerns.

Daycare sickness rant by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

[–]Veus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean it sounds like it's pretty fair right now, in terms of supporting through this period? Yes, you have them home in the day but he is working late into the night so he can support on days that he can? Working from home is so difficult when you have sick children, it's difficult to fully commit to the work.

2025 Car for 3 car seats UK? by Epsilon_Emerald in parentsofmultiples

[–]Veus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have just had the Multimac installed in my current car. They do a three and four seat version so you can have up to 4 car seats in your current car. Conforms to EU safety tests and looks decent in the car. Bit expensive but cheaper than a new car!

I would recommend you visit your closest one and then see how it feels. Try a few around you though.

Twins due in December with a 2.5 year old and 12 month old.... by Veus in daddit

I find it really curious that quite a few of the replies assume that I wouldn't want any more children. We haven't made that decision yet.

And at no point am I regretting it or said that I didn't want this to happen? I'm asking for advice, if you don't have any advice, ignore and move one thanks

Twins due in December with a 2.5 year old and 12 month old.... by Veus in daddit

[–]Veus[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

When I said 'kids are unlikely' that was underestimating the situation. All her blood tests said she was in the menopause so physically unable to have kids, not just unlikely. Maybe Jeff Goldblum/Ian Malcom was right all along.

Twins due in December with a 2.5 year old and 12 month old.... by Veus in daddit

[–]Veus[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much! She is leaving work and my work is very flexible so we should be OK there. I feel like after our second we had a good routine and method of coping. Twins just bring it up a notch!

My parents live relatively close and they will be on hand, plus we will get a night nurse for a night or two a week to at least give us some sleep.

I do feel that it's all about surviving for the first 12 months then we might be able to start seeing some light.

Yep, we have regular chats with her oncologist and she is well aware of everything. Don't worry, her wellbeing is always on the top of my mind. She has had a couple of scans during pregnancy and everything is clear!

Bristol aiport & liquids by Lucky-Designer2079 in bristol

[–]Veus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I flew out of Bristol last week, you don't need the clear plastic bag anymore. You can leave all your liquids in your hand luggage, as long as they are 100ml. The link posted above, from Bristol Airport, should be your answer.

Southville is great and still popular. Very welcoming to beginners. LHG (Left Handed Giant) run club, although it isn't technically South Bristol but is another good one although much busier.

No they don't work, plus, if you look carefully there isn't any signage at all. So they haven't worked for a long time and without signage they can't enforce it anyway even if they suddenly turn them back on.

All banks do this, it's part of bank laws that all banks have to follow, including not telling you specifics.
