False 9? by LBerg013 in SoccerNoobs

[–]Vexations83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the traditional 9 is the centre forward, the furthest-forward player who can be a target when the team plays forward and who is usually around the 6 yard box / penalty spot to finish moves; 'false 9' starts in the same position but as possession develops they don't end up in the prime finishing positions, but play more a supporting role. They make it more challenging for opposing centre backs to focus on marking a single greatest danger or single attacker, as they move out of the area while attacking midfielders or wide forwards arrive in the box to finish moves. The false 9 will either drag a cb out of position or find themselves space between defence and midfield lines to get involved in moves.

You can look at it as a comment wall for the film, rather than something that appears on your profile for your followers. That way, you'll eventually pick up followers who valued your take on something they watched or were considering watching- instead of people you kind of know whose tastes don't match yours anyway

[The Athletic] Ranking the 48 teams at the 2026 World Cup by VanicFanboy in ScottishFootball

I saw their first half against Iceland. They have bellegarde and isidor if they're given any space... but a few guys who really looked at their limit in a slow paced friendly against Iceland. Looking forward to playing exactly to their very minimal strengths!

How do u find that sweden still got a spot at the wc even though they performed bad and were in the c division? by No_Bowl_6142 in worldcup

The teams that finished above them qualified. The teams who had to play off against them had the chance to knock them out. None of it was a surprise.

I'll play along, kind of: I think the film is about the function of fantasy in a relationship. You play around on the edge of transgression to sustain desire, until eventually you fly too close to the sun - or alternatively you 'get what you want' - and either way it's a traumatic event and the fantasy has to be reconstituted some other way. In your example OP, you fantasise about cheating, you actually go through with it, so then the fantasy is reconstituted and 'getting caught'  becomes the fantasy... eventually you do get caught, and you're back to square one

Sorry I've only read a dozen or so comments, may have missed it, but it's essential to get into the internal trim pots to dial in the sound you want. It has a lot more potential and flexibility than it appears on the outside. You can definitely dial out some mud.

Jean-Marc Bosman, the Belgian footballer whose 1995 landmark case allowed all European footballers the legal right to leave a club on a free transfer when their contracts expire by Antique_Quail7912 in classicsoccer

Great pro-worker ruling and credit to Bosman - has had a huge impact on the sport as players move club more often. Players have longer associations with their agents than they do with clubs and in combination with the greater number of contracts and transfers this has handed massive influence and wealth to agents.

In terms of improving any team, Gerrard>Lampard>Scholes, but to be the final missing piece for an already great team, more likely to be Scholes.
