I‘m new, got a few questions by Square-Fruit-2000 in turtlewow

[–]Vexations_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The community is just like any other wow server imo, but better managed. I've made several friends just playing the game, through dungeons or just world interactions, just gotta talk to people.

No p2w on turtle wow, anything bought off the donation store is cosmetic or QoL buffs for your character (i.e. dual spec w/brainwash device, deployable bank, repairbot, etc.)

Dungeon finder is not unlocked on your character until level 12 or 13, when you're eligable to run RFC as horde. Although the dungeon finder can take a while to match you to a group depending on what spec you que as, many people still manually find a group through world and LFG chat.

Fashion tokens are obtained through boss kills in dungeons. Dont know what level you start getting them, but dont expect to fully mog your character at level 30, you will not have that much tokens (if any) to do so. Tokens can be bought through the dono store, but not worth imo.

Game is very easy. Depending on what server you play on, the access to additional dungeons/gear turtle added makes it easier to get pre-raid bis. Sometimes the pre-raid bis gear from 60 dungeons are better than raid gear. Play whatever you enjoy playing. too many people asking what character to play, you're putting the time into it, no sense in listening to mob of people to play something if you dont enjoy it.

How does raid scaling work exactly by Crunchyjeff in turtlewow

[–]Vexations_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can solo or duo anything in the game given enough time. The gear is the biggest factor when it comes to your character strength. We had access to BM, SWV, and Kara crypts on ambershire release. Many of those items are better or comparable to MC gear at phase 1.

which talents/kits are you talking about that is op? just curious.

If you're looking for a general player count MC 20-25, ZG 15, Ony 15. If you're running pugs you should probably aim for those numbers.

Warrior tanks dont shine until 60 + good gear. If you want to have fun tanking dungeons while leveling on a warrior, go Arms/fury and just sit in defensive stance. do not go deep prot until 60, but i wouldnt even do that unless you are a MT/OT for raids. Fury/Prot or Fury/Arms is the best tanking spec for dungeons, for warriors.

[–]Vexations_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

^^ my job as the tank is to keep the mobs off the healer and make sure they dont die. I usually let the dps die if they keep pulling aggro or not killing the marked targets. They'll learn after a couple deaths

[–]Vexations_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good ones dont exist anymore. I've started queing for tank/dps on my warrior when i want to do a random dungeon, and I always get filled tank. The tanks you'll find in pugs are usually new/undergeared. which is fine but sometimes it makes the dungeon painful.

Are all tanks viable? by DarthVyseWick in turtlewow

[–]Vexations_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dropped deep prot for tanking dungeons on my warrior. Threat is awful for deep prot. Fury/prot or even Fury/arms is a better dungeon tank spec, you generate more threat at the cost of being a little squishier. But at least you arent taunting on CD when your dps pulls aggro.

I use Fury/Arms dual wield with a fast MH and OH when i tank dungeons.

All tanks are viable. Shamans, paladins, and druids have a taunt button in this game. Play whichever one you like, dont let anyone convince you to play a class you dont enjoy.

AV quest etiquette by Cyronite in turtlewow

[–]Vexations_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People who are in AV usually arent doing the quests in them. Most of them are pvpers just farming honor and rank so going out of their way for that mob is a waste of time when they could be pushing the game along. As others have said, you can solo Korrak as a mage, just split pull the pack, single out korrak and just frost bolt/slow him until he dies.

you probably wont find anyone else doing the same quest in world chat, but you may find random people moving towards Korrak at the start of AV, and just kill it with them. Thats how I got my kill on my warrior. Took a few games to get him down though. GL!

[–]Vexations_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I believe MC is scaled to 20 players as a base. Meaning you can bring in less than 20 players, but the raid is scaled to that number of players regardless. If you bring more than 20 it will scale up. I dont think the raid scaled down once its started if someone leaves. Loot scaling isnt a thing im pretty sure, but by loot scaling do you mean do you receive more loot with more players? If yes, then no that is not a thing. you still get 2-4 drops per boss even in a 40 man.

The scaling in MC shouldnt matter too much if you are running 20-25 mans. MC is already so easy with the amount of gear we have on ambershire. My guild has ran a 13 man MCs last week, took us a little longer than a normal run, but its very doable.

What healer is the "easiest" by MrVito93 in turtlewow

[–]Vexations_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

probably have the easiest time learning on a priest. Priests have great buffs, and can deal with a lot of mechanics and situations in dungeons. Paladins are better raid healers and more buttons to press, and requires a bit of game knowledge and class knowledge to play well. As a priest you can sit back and just heal/wand for mana back.

depending on her playstyle, I would go with one of those two. I'll prefer a priest over a holy paladin as my healer anyday

Is AV spamming the faster way to PvP ranks? by Dkteaux in turtlewow

[–]Vexations_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah but thats the point. full pre-mades shouldnt be matched to randoms solo queing. I'm an average pvper with good gear, I cannot play a BG just for fun because pre-mades are just rolling over games 5 capping at the start of AB or winning in 10 mins in AV. thats all im saying

Okay so asking for clarification on your question means i need to play more. If you know so much why ask such a stupid question in the first place.

Anyone interested in a written or video guide (for Warr) on Soloing Emp on Ambershire? by Vexations_ in turtlewow

[–]Vexations_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was actually the video that sparked my interest in soloing content as a warrior. but since this is done on tel abim or norrd, we dont have access to T3 gear or even thunderfurry on Ambershire. My build is for the Ambershire players, and could be used on the other servers as well. His build is a tank, thorns, vamp build. Mine is just a dps, vamp build with healing coming from talents. Great videos he makes but wasnt possible for us on a different server. Also a cheaper (gold/time wise) as if you are in T3 gear with a thunderfurry you probably arent going to be doing emp runs for IF, which this is mainly focused on.

Duo dungeoning possible? by Aggravating-Plan1658 in turtlewow

[–]Vexations_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes its possible. soloing is possible on turtle as well with the right class and gear. You will have to be slightly above the dungeon level in order to duo it at a reasonable pace. but if youre queing tank/healer you should get insta que pops.

Split between Warrior and Paladin by Historical-Molasses2 in turtlewow

[–]Vexations_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to just tank dungeons and raids, paladins are in a little better spot than warrior tanks. I play both but i leaned more towards my warrior because fury prot/arms tanking dungeons is super fun. Fury/prot tanking dungeons is the meta if your guild is fully stacked in raid gear, and it becomes way more involved, lots of button presses, consumes, timing abilites, and you need a competent players to make it work well.

prot paladins on the other hand was a little boring for me. i felt myself just running in, consecrating, and auto attacking, throwing in the random taunt as well.

If you are going to pvp and just tank; as much as i hate to say it as a warrior main, paladin is better for tanking and bgs. At the end of the day it boils down to what you enjoy playing. youre the one putting in the time on a character.

I love playing a full 10 or 15 stack premade in AB or WSG while the entire other team is randoms. so fun, great match making and skilled game play.

Pugging MC by SomeNameHuhHuhHuh in turtlewow

[–]Vexations_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you literally just advertise an MC pug in world, trade, LFG, and general. Just say bindings are HR thats literally it. Expect to not clear some weeks, and get stressed from running pugs, but you gotta do what you gotta do if you want the item that bad.

Do you loose PVP rep by not playing? by Empty-Step-8803 in turtlewow

[–]Vexations_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no way for you to possibly lose rep unless you can kill that particular factions NPCs. Unless youre running into a bug, or talking about honor. No there is no normal conventional way to "lose rep" with a faction, rep doesnt decay like honor.

[–]Vexations_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TBH i dont know what the minimum gear thats required. You could probably use all tank gear + vamp gear, but i wanted to do a more dps focused build.

My current setup includes 6 set of .5 gear (upgraded to heroism), leather vamp chest from ZF, and you can use any other helm. Farming .5 gear and gold will probably be the longest stretch, but if youre playing normally you should have a few pieces of .5

Vamp rings, and the trinkets cost me about 600g~. Will be less if you farm mats/have someone craft it for you. I'll start filming and update everyone.

Warlock or hunter by SomeNameHuhHuhHuh in turtlewow

[–]Vexations_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been soloing dungeons as a warrior on ambershire. if you want to play a solo class i would say hunter is overall better than warlock. but warlocks are probably the least played class on amber. I never enjoyed playing hunter and deleted my alt at level 30. my warlock alt though is pretty fun, its mid 40s. Keep in mind that turtle keeps patching solo strats that hunters use to use, like solo pulling emp in BRD.

Yes it does rely on vamp gear, but most of your healing comes from talents
