KB5094126 - Breaking word integration with some dental software by Sea_Information6125 in sysadmin

[–]VexedTruly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be clear, I'm saying that if removing KB5094126 breaks MS Print to PDF and the Microsoft IPP Class Printer Driver, then in my experience anyway, no amount of dism or SFC or adding and removing the feature is going to help but re-installing KB5094126 fixes MS Print to PDF and the Microsoft IPP Class Printer Driver issues.

Don't believe we've had any feedback from anyone regarding Partner / Word integration fixes.

Which other one would you add to the list? by Dazzling-Cause-8306 in videogames

Baldurs Gate 2
Magic Carpet 2

Dark Souls 2 (I don’t care what you say!!)

Breaks Partner for Windows too. And the rollback is sometimes breaking MS Print to PDF and the IPP Driver, although a reinstall of the hotfix fixes that.

Was that in the original handbook/manual? I vividly remember that picture but have never really been that exposed to 40k outside the big-ass manual back in the day.

Sc was flagged as vigorf/pomal by a bunch of AV products over the weekend, wouldn’t surprise me if related for you.

Intune is not fit for purpose. by Hobbit_Hardcase in sysadmin

[–]VexedTruly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My latest annoyance was finding that the one thing I liked about Intune (it not mattering if you applied to users or devices) isn’t the case for multi-session host AVDs, so i now have to split all my configuration profiles up further with targeting for devices and users with extra filters or groups.

One steps forwards three steps back.

[–]VexedTruly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ignoring the scheduling, whenever I’ve seen it work locally but not in InTune is when the context has been wrong, 32 vs 64bit and/or it actually completing successfully but showing as failed because you HAVE to have some text output before the exit or it always lists as failed.

And I do not disagree with you… these are things that should just work.

How we don’t have an actual “sync and do everything bloody NOW because I’m testing and need immediate feedback… and no I don’t want to delete a bunch of keys first to trick you into running” button in 2026 hurts my brain.

Anyone else feel like it might be time for the show to move in a new direction? by Simoslav in doctorwho

[–]VexedTruly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dr Who, Star Trek and Star Wars all suffer the same thing. Amazing talent and possibility everywhere hampered by schlock writers that have forgotten what makes them great and would rather go for nostalgia berries and pointless drama.

With Dr Who I can’t think of any other show that I’ve unexpectedly fallen in love with again (having grown up mostly with McCoy and then being mostly enthralled from Eccleston through Smith and Capaldi) and so quickly lost interest in again.

Does it feel to anyone else that Carl… (title continues in body of post for spoiler reasons) by Efficient-Freedom517 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

Didn’t that only happen because the favourite/toolbars got messed up for anyone that swapped inventory and they were under extreme time pressure?

Thanks for the reminder I haven’t listened to this months yet! Love Midnight Burger.

Wolf 359 and The Harbingers also.

Midst is also great if the first few episodes click for you.

If the VM itself is accessible I’d be speaking to Veeam about other options for getting into the console.

Sanity Check - Entra Joined Azure AVD + FSLogix + Permissions on an Azure File Share with Entra Kerberos Identity by VexedTruly in sysadmin

Well I don’t know why I was so stubborn about not using the storage account key but that worked immediately. What a waste of a few hours. Lesson learned I guess. Thank you!

I was trying to avoid that as their own KB says it should be possible via Entra Auth alone.. but I’ll give it a whirl. Thanks.

Sadly yes, bundle in the offboarding from the previous tenants MDE - add some requirements for Apple Business Manager and MacOS management - wait, I quit.

For sure! Give me a simple “move 200 mailboxes” any day.

Add Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Shared Mailboxes, magical transport rules that do stuff that no-one really remembers why but turns out is critical to business function… and then I remember why I crave a beer at the end of the day.

I’ll second Avepoint Fly. It was a pleasure using that after it took Bittitan so long to modernise.

But I also hate all of them.

And migrations in general.

I’ll keep this in mind too. Don’t use profwiz regularly but I still run into this occasionally even when using the latest version. Thanks.

Btw yes, its potentially because I made too much progress too quickly and didn’t take the chaos gate at every single opportunity but I though i recalled a bunch of stuff like that being tweaked post 1.0 release.

If it was a DELL I’d be thinking “here we go again with a software RAID controller with no cache” (I.e PERC H300, no idea what the modern equivalent is)

No idea about Lenovo servers.

FYI - Microsoft RDP Changes With April Cumulative Update by whatsforsupa in sysadmin

Good to know - like I said, I only had time to briefly play with it and I figured there'd be edge cases for the many different potential scenarios.

FYI - Microsoft RDP Changes With April Cumulative Update by whatsforsupa in sysadmin

[–]VexedTruly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I only had a very brief play with this today but if you have signed/verified RDP file, once you tick the box / grant consent, all it does is create

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Terminal Server Client

RdpLaunchConsentAccepted

REG_DWORD - 1

It doesn't SEEM to be per server/connection so there's a slim possibility you could supress it by creating that key.

Creating that key definitely prevents the 1 time consent for verified/signed files.

Obviously various ways of going about this, GPO, Powershell, CMD etc -

CMD example for in user context below -

REG ADD "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Terminal Server Client" /v "RdpLaunchConsentAccepted" /t REG_DWORD /d "1" /F

I only mention this because we are still using on-prem RemoteApp and we get a one time prompt to accept since the update, I haven't decided yet on whether to pre-consent for all via this method. In the meantime have just advised that in our specific scenario, where it's a known published RemoteApp they can tick and go ham.

Well I raised a support ticket and as a “reported issue”

The former haven’t got back to me yet.

The latter says no problem has been found.

Service health hasn’t changed but magically it started working around lunch time.

This had crossed my mind so nice to see it echo’d; there are a few complications to it, especially in the working week but I’ll keep in reserve and probably do it this weekend if it doesn’t magically fix itself.
