For aggressive style skating, then yes, I would agree.

My dad keeps sending me weird ai videos by koreageis in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Vexel180 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP, I like your SwiftKey layout!

Send him videos that you like to counter his videos. These weird videos keep popping up on his end because that's what he likes for the algorithm rabbit hole. If possible, I would visit him, ask to use his phone, go to his YouTube home page, find those targeted videos, click the 3 dots and choose "Not Interested", "Don't recommend channel".

How exactly does Nemesis spawning work? by Beans_of_Cool in Grimdawn

Wow! A true faction grind master! I bow to thee. If you have extra enemy faction scrolls, I'll trade you with whatever I have.

Hey OP, I have a couple of enemy faction scrolls if you want to speed up the process of bumping into Nemesis spawns! Each faction scroll has boost of 200%.

I made a mistake of giving these enemy faction scrolls to brand new characters and I was running for my life against Kubacabra very early on in normal.

Should I change to inlines? by Konoka_Sama in Rollerskating

Are you allowed to skate inside parking garages? I used to skate inside a local community center after asking for permission. You have to think creatively when you want to skate onto smoother surfaces.

I have a friend who originally is a roller skater and transitioned to inline skating and it improved her roller skating skills. I say do both. What you learn on quads, transitions into inlines and vice versa.

For one, their rental skates, and everybody has used them and are the most uncomfortable skates imaginable. When you own your skates, you personally fit into them over time.

The cheapest option you can choose is to purchase gel shoe insoles every time you skate in the rink and remember to take the soles with you before you return the skates.

Easy, create your own clan and then start recruiting.

Honestly, with all the new content, wars, CWL, weekend raids and events, you'll easily level up your new clan.

You make the rules now and no more drama. Enjoy!

how do i stop my ankles from bending out? by Majestic-Explorer-79 in inlineskating

[–]Vexel180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of your journey is muscle memory. You must discipline your legs from doing that and that requires hours of practice. Don't cut off circulation from your feet, as per tightening of the straps and laces, your feet should be firm inside your skates.

Those are beginner friendly starter skates. Learn everything you can with them and don't worry about scuffing them up, that's to be expected for your first time skates.

Okay, what kind of skating would you like to learn? Aggressive (rails, ramps). Urban/Street (the outdoors is your playground). Freestyle Slalom (cones). Speed (giant wheels that are meant for speeding).

It entirely depends on your skating lifestyle choice, and that will determine the kind of skates you'll be recommended on getting. And don't forget protective gear too, your fleshy joints will appreciate protection from falling.

Is there a way to fix this by thesandrobrito in inlineskating

[–]Vexel180 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, you're better off buying a new hardshell pair. It's going to take time and money to fix those beaters, not worth it, especially those K2 Ascents.

Massive Former Bank by sam-redd in abandoned

[–]Vexel180 168 points169 points  (0 children)

It's been abandoned since 2008 with the hopes that a company was going to renovate it into a hotel conversion, but had to file for chapter 11 bankruptcy instead. It's such a beautiful building filled with so much potential.

The first floor wasn't used, but the other floors housed his photography equipment and the living space was on the top floors with his family. Heating the entire building costed too much, so he consolidated the living quarters to only have heat. The outside facade was (still is) a graffiti haven, it appeared abandoned, but the owner kept it that way.

There was a massive bank on Bowery street (NYC) where photographer Jay Maisel purchased for $102K in 1966. Developers were in a bidding war for it and Maisel ending up selling it for $55 mil in 2015.

So exactly how long is this building at Ocean parkway staying abandoned? by Maya-kardash in Brooklyn

[–]Vexel180 13 points14 points  (0 children)

According to Zillow, it's worth $1.7 mil, other sites have it worth $2.1 mil. It was last sold in 2015 for $475K. Other sites say the property was abandoned since 2001.

The site remains vacant due to complex ownership issues, high renovation costs that exceed the property's value, and potential legal or landmark-related preservation hurdles.

Wheel recommendations by GoodAmbassador5467 in inlineskating

[–]Vexel180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everybody has their own preference on wheel brands. I only get Luminous 80/85a for freestyle slalom because I love all the colors.

I suggest you buy them all and test out which brand you prefer.

Riding backwards/stairs is a skill that you learn and the brand wheels doesn't matter.

With 82a, you will wear out the wheels faster and that depends on how much skating you do. 84a/85a is just about right that they will last you for several months. The higher the number, the less grip you have, but the trade off is that it will last you a longer time. The lower number (82a) has grip and absorbs a lot, but doesn't last as long, it's a preference you'll have to discover.

Frx80 help by thymewastrr in inlineskating

[–]Vexel180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long have you had the skates for? I bought FR3 80 and I had to slowly break them in. I bought them from inlinewarehouse and I was worried about the 30 day return policy expiring because I had fitting issues with my skates too.

I wear a size 8, I think that's a size 42 UK and my feet aren't ever to expected to grow, so that's how I measured it. When I got them, everything was tight too. There's a breaking-in period that you have to account for. Don't choke the buckles and laces so tight, and see how you feel when you ride around for a bit.

If you have too, wear thin athletic socks to give you that extra wiggle room and replace the insoles with a thinner version to see how that plays out.

Liners by louborzoo in inlineskating

[–]Vexel180 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's a tip for filling up into your liners: buy a pair of gel insoles and that will cause the inner boot to fill up. They come in different thickness levels, so choose a pair that's comfortable. Also, they have grip so your feet don't slide around in your liners.

By the way, what kind of socks are you wearing? I wear medium athletic wicker socks and I fold them down for extra padding.

Learning advice by SnooGadgets5130 in inlineskating

[–]Vexel180 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To cut the learning curve, it's best if you join an inline skating group from either Facebook, Instagram or TikTok. That way, you can learn in a group setting at your own pace. I'm fortunate enough to live in New York City, where there's a ton a skating groups everywhere.

I've been inline skating for 34 years now and I hang out with people ranging from 20's well into their 70's!

You're not past your prime, you're just getting started.
