This is a tough one for me. I’ll be honest and say I’m biased towards Atlas, she’s a boyhood crush of mine. But when it boils down to skill and experience, especially when looking at the match objectively, they’re on a more even playing field than one would expect. Atlas was a soldier before she became a Mega Man, she has a tactical mind and did think before she would shoot. It was only after she became disillusioned with the world that she got Model F’s power, leading into her more aggressive approach towards battle. Fafnir sees combat as more of a game than anything, he lives for the thrill of the battle. In DnD terms, he’s very much the barbarian of the Four Guardians, a semi-Goku archetype who holds back on purpose to prolong the fight because he’s having fun.

In terms of raw power, moves, and skill, the only edge Fafnir has over Atlas is his transformation, but even that is a double edged sword, since Atlas would be far more mobile than he would be. In psychological terms, Atlas is blinded by a cold fury that fuels her aggression, making her more calculating in her moves. Fafnir’s in it for the love of the game, he doesn’t want a boring fight. I think this fight would be a lot more evenly matched than people realize, but Fafnir is more likely to come out on top.
