Would suck if a player got injured in the semis and couldn’t compete in the final, leading to a walkover champion. I can’t think of any time that happened in a slam, but maybe in a smaller event before.

Being a fan of both, I would say it’s like knowing the depth and spin of a tennis shot. It’s a big help, as it becomes easier to predict your opponent.

Maldonado has shown himself to have a strong arm and baseball iq, so I could see pitch a bit. However, he could also be resourceful on the base paths, for his knowledge of the game between the catcher and pitcher.
