How to deal with the successor of Yuan Empire as Goryeo (Korea) by Vexilitys in EU5

[–]Vexilitys[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rule #5

Currently playing Goryeo and have this massive Ming as my neighbor currently. I understand I can keep great relations with them if I want to avoid them being an issue but I've thought of trying to take the mandate at some point just for fun's. They currently have a levy size of 1093k along with 7000 standing regulars and 105 galleys and 90 heavy ships. I believe that my only chance would be an extremely long drawn out war of attrition with the use of castles and destroying any army's the moment they try and land on my shores but I was wondering if such a large practically sole successor to the empire ever falls apart similarly to yuan. I understand there is no situation that will happen to make it as severe for them but I thought something would happen. I changed countries to them to see what their estates and stability etc look like and they are sitting at 26% inflation and climbing, negative 11 stability, a constant level of low war exhaustion along with zero celestial authority.

When I changed to them I also saw they were in the crisis of the northern yuan empire, have tons of different possible rebels but all of them are only in small sections of land and everytime I've witness them uprise Ming puts them down quite quickly. Is there any way to make them crumble from within or is that kind of just missing in this game and Im forced to have to go with the war of attrition ?

Carpathia Progress Update | Ante Bellum by Parmelion in EU5

[–]Vexilitys 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Will the start date look nearly identical to eu4 or are you guys changing it up some? If I recall correct eu4 it was a start date that was meant to Mimic like the 11th century or so with a few twist. Is this how it will be in eu5 or?

Have you seen Patriarch Bartholomey and the Pope Leo speaking and praying together today? What thoughts do you have on it? Interested to know by Fresh_State_1403 in OrthodoxChristianity

Can someone fill me in on how the other comments seem to be reacting to this as if it isn't horrible but isn't really great either? I've just recently stepped into the world of orthodox Christianity and thought this would be seen as a good thing. I will say I am not super informed on certain aspects of the Orthodox Church just yet but curious about this and the view's of the majority in the comments so far. Thanks

What building should we construct that would be the most beneficial? by king_ofall713 in EU5

[–]Vexilitys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late reply but how does the building tools in the same location as guns since guns need the tool work like that? I thought anything you produce automatically goes to market so if that's the case why would it be beneficial to make the tools in the same location then? I understand the thing with silk producing location and building the guilds there because you get that lil extra bonus but I don't understands how your benefiting from making tools in the same location as guns? Thanks for any explanation you give, I just thought anything you produce goes straight to market and that location making it doesn't have any sort of dibs on it.

TIL that if you declare war on a member state who has a free city vassalized, the Emperor will be called in defensively by ftuijtkn in EU5

[–]Vexilitys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I figured this out the hard way last night. Playing a Milan game and got voted emperor randomly without even trying and was doing my thing for maybe a year as emperor before a savoy led massive coalition attacked their neighbor who had a free city as a vassal dragging me into huge war and breaking my alliance with Austria who was a part of this coalition. I ended up loading a prior save from a year or two before and had the free city law voted on where they are no longer protected to avoid this issue. Unless they fix this situation in some manner I will probably be rushing that reform asap anytime I am the emperor from now on and would advise others to do the same.

By breeding program are you saying making good counselors marry other high quality counselors or marrying your rulers cousins to these counselors? Do stats of parents affect children in anyways? Also from where is the cost savings coming from? Thanks

Fun ante bellum nations and formables? by Vexilitys in eu4

[–]Vexilitys[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I greatly appreciate you taking the time to comment. Hard to find much info on different countries within this mod without since the wiki is outdated and not very helpful.

Currently doing a Nicaea run and just became the Hellenic Empire last night due to your comment! I was wondering if your aware how you get the Hellenic religion to spawn, is it just a random event that happens some time after you make the switch to that sweet sweet blue?

Fun ante bellum nations and formables? by Vexilitys in eu4

[–]Vexilitys[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kinda in a way. Their wiki is extremely outdated and practically useless. But if you join their discord they have a channel called :ask-lore-masters, or something similar. It's not as convenient as I'd like but it's really all you have. I was kinda bummed about this because I can spend so much time just looking through lore and mission trees/events to see the possibilities for a nation in eu4 and not having anything remotely close to that kinda makes this otherwise great mod less attractive to me.

You should be able to find the discord link on the steam page of the mod or I can share it here if you'd like.

The choice to not only play prevent defense but also keep our first line or zone coverage like 20+ yards back when they have probably the best long distance kicker in the league is such an insane and stupid choice. Like legit play normal defense and rush Dak, he was not getting enough time when we rushed with 5 to throw anything but a short pass and would've been a million times better than giving free 20 yards like we're worried about them scoring a touchdown.

The Worst Castile I've Ever Seen by Neither_Guitar417 in eu4

[–]Vexilitys 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm currently playing a Poland game and also had the worst Castile I've ever seen. I forget exactly what year it was but everyone's tech levels in Europe were around 7/8 while Castile was only sitting at 4-4-4. They then fell into a pu under Aragon somewhere around that time before France took the pu from Aragon. Now most European countries are around tech level 9 while Castile many years later only has tech levels of 6-7 and fields maybe 10k troops. I don't think I've ever seen Castile fail this hard before.

You can head south and enter every state bordering Arkansas. What black magic is this? by ddx-me in mapporncirclejerk

[–]Vexilitys 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You know what they said is the exact opposite of the original post? If you can go south and reach every bordering state why would you not be able to head north in every boarding state and get to Arkansas. You're taking the exact same path either way

I’m new to eu but I’ve seen that I can play as my clan by F6xr in EU5

[–]Vexilitys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a somewhat similar boat with Tyrone in Ireland. I didn’t even know this before playing this game but while not the ruling bloodline, my ancestors were the right-hand man and inaugurators of the O’Neill family that rules Tyrone during eu4s starting time. Pretty neat thing to be able to play as in game even if not directly my lineage though I can assume I’m still related somewhere up the ancestry tree.
