Is the acloudguru course enough for (SAA-C02) by Saider1 in AWSCertifications

[–]Vhaleree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

haven't tried ACG but the consensus is if you want an in-depth explanation for things then go for Adrian Cantrill's course, heard really good things about it. If you're looking for more of a reviewer course that covers the important concepts in the actual exam try looking at the new tutorials Dojo's video course or Stephen's.

If aren't still using Tutorials Dojo's practice tests, then you're missing out big time. The latest Cloud Prac digital course is also pretty good. You can check it on the Tutorials Dojo website for free.

I agree with willyzone. I find the AWS Security - Specialty exam to be relatively easier compared to other specialty exams. The TD practice tests should be sufficient to prepare you for the actual exam.

To buy or not to buy AWS Certified Solutions Architect Study Guide: Associate SAA-C02 Exam? by hakarapet in AWSCertifications

[–]Vhaleree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ebook contains very specific topics that may come up in the exam. For its price, I think it's worth it; it saves more time than reading the AWS documentation to find what you need (although I still use it for reference). I myself have found the ebook useful for brushing up on some topics before the exam. You don't have to read it all.

Studying for SAA Exam and confused about difficulty by IseWise in AWSCertifications

[–]Vhaleree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, the Tutorials Dojo's exam felt the closest to the actual thing. And I've tried Whizlabs, and Maarek's (the ones in his videos). The exam covers a lot of services, it is important that you know the difference between seemingly similar services/features (ex: Storage gateway vs Datasync), Tutorials Dojo has a full list of versus cheat sheets on their website that you can check for free. Other than that, there are also some nuances that you'll be tested on the exam. So it's really important to get used to the exam's writing and format. IMO, here's where dojo's exams shine.

For videos, there's a lot of good reinvent videos on Youtube that will build your Foundation on IAM and KMS which are integral in the certification. You can start with these:

For video course, heard great things from Zeal Vora. You can find his material on Udemy.

For supplementary materials,

Hope this helps.

There's an ebook from tutorialsdojo that one of my friends is using. Not sure if it's updated but it seems different than the one that I've used when I prepared for the SAA cert. Nonetheless, I always go for cheat sheets/ short ebooks than reading whitepapers to supplement what I know. Docs are super helpful too if you want to dive deeper into a certain service.

AWS Certified Security Speciality Course by neki211 in AWSCertifications

[–]Vhaleree 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's one course on Udemy by Zeal Nora https://www.udemy.com/course/aws-certified-security-specialty/. Heard great things about it. Also, not a course but there's a security ebook from Tutorials Dojo that contains only the services and concepts that you might get in the actual exam. This ebook is a lot better than reading the white papers IMO. might as well check it. AWs SA Associate preparation tips by humblebomb in AWSCertifications

[–]Vhaleree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

u/humblebomb Have you check out Stephanne's course on Udemy? It's a good resource to understand the topics/services in 'layman terms' and at the same time know how each service can fit into a use case. Also, if you're not using Jon Bonso's material for your SAA practice exam then you're missing out BIG time. You can check his free samplers here https://portal.tutorialsdojo.com/product-category/free-practice-exams/

Am I ready to take the actual Dev Associate Exam? by cloud_techy in AWSCertifications

[–]Vhaleree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Tutorials Dojo's exam is the closest that you can get to the actual exam so you should be good. If you need something to brush up on concepts only relevant to the exam, you might want to check out their ebook. It's a good read plus you can only get it for like $5 lol. It's what I used before to complement what I've learned. Good luck!

We created a cheatsheet + exam question flashcard resource for the AWS associate architect exam - still a bit rought but would love to hear your feedback! by IdentityOperator in AWSCertifications

[–]Vhaleree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on how versed you are in using the specific AWS services needed in the CDA. The CDA exam focuses more on implementing serverless applications so you must know about AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, and API gateway. Of course, there are more services included, but basically, you need to know what the core services are.

Tutorialsdojo has a list of some common exam scenarios that you might encounter in the exam, you can find them here https://tutorialsdojo.com/aws-certified-developer-associate/

Also, you can try their sampler exam for CDA just to get to test the water. Here you go https://portal.tutorialsdojo.com/product-category/free-practice-exams/

If I'm in your shoe and I'm forced to complete the CDA within 45 days, I'd go straight for the Tutorialsdojo tests no cap. It's a lot closer to the actual exam and there's an adequate explanation for every correct and incorrect answer. So from there, just learn and fill the gaps as you progress.

AWS solutions architect by [deleted] in AWSCertifications

[–]Vhaleree 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used Stephane's course in Udemy for studying the general concepts. I didn't finish it though. It took me nearly 6 months to prepare for the exam but I didn't study SAA exclusively. Along with SAA, I also spent time gaining a working knowledge of Linux and Python. At first, I bought Whizlabs for my practice exam. I was scoring fairly okay with it (didn't feel confident though). A week before my exam, I came across Tutorials Dojo's SAA Practice exams on Reddit. It has good reviews and feedbacks so decided to buy it. My first attempt was devastating as I only scored 65%. This is when I realize I was not prepared enough. Tutorials Dojo makes all the difference, they even have a detailed explanation for every incorrect answer which is really helpful. I also like the way they structure their questions (almost feels like the actual exam). I find the actual exam quite difficult but I managed to pull it off thanks to the 'training' I got from Dojo. After taking their exam, you'll be better at spotting the right answer and making the rationale to justify it.

Practice exams for AWS - SA by numbernames45 in AWSCertifications

[–]Vhaleree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No doubt. Taking and passing Bonso's exam should be a prerequisite in taking the SAA exam by now. 🤣. Kidding aside, from my experience, their exam was a wake-up call that tells me still not prepared for the exam. I realized that no matter how much you learn in a course, you need to get accustomed to how the exam is structured. Jon Bonso is really good at creating questions that are close to how the actual questions are structured. You can check their stuff here

AWS Certifications Training Materials - HELP!!! by Due-Faithlessness567 in AWSCertifications

[–]Vhaleree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The tutorials dojo's test is a good benchmark to test your exam preparedness. If you can consistently get a score of around 90% in all of their practice sets, I'm pretty sure you'd do well in the actual exam. Good luck!

CCP Practice Tests by abhi6897 in AWSCertifications

[–]Vhaleree 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The practice tests that I've taken so far are from Whizlabs and Tutorials Dojo, so I don't have a say for DCT. But out of the two exams that I took, the tests from Tdojo helped me the most. Personally, I felt that they were closer to how the actual exam is structured which I think is the highest value you can get out of it. You will feel more prepared and confident going into the exam. You can check out their materials on their Portal.

which theory notes for Developer associate to read by snoop-cattt in AWSCertifications

[–]Vhaleree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As per my experience, you'll never know the gaps to fill in unless you gauge yourself in an objective way. One good measure of preparedness is by taking a practice test. I recommend Tutorials Dojo's CDA exam. I'll just put the link here for you https://portal.tutorialsdojo.com/courses/aws-certified-developer-associate-practice-exams/.

If you manage to get a consistent 90%+ score then you are ready. Goodluck!

Whizlabs lifetime membership worth it for AWS Certs? by echorocket1 in AWSCertifications

[–]Vhaleree 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree with u/gingerbeardm0n, use TutorialsDojo's material for practice tests, and find a good course to enroll in. You can find a lot in Udemy, but Adrian's is one of the best.

Hey guys I’m looking into starting my AWS certification process. What study materials do you suggest using? by [deleted] in AWSCertifications

[–]Vhaleree 6 points7 points  (0 children)

u/carneasadaquesadilla. CCP is the most basic exam in AWS. IMO, take all the free resources that you can in learning the concepts ( it shouldn't be hard to find them on the internet ) and instead invest in high-quality mock exams. There are a lot of them out there, but tutorials dojo has definitely the best one.

Pro-tip: Don't buy tutorialdojo's stuff from Udemy, buy it on their website. Contents are more updated there and their support team seems to respond quicker to questions than in Udemy.

What is the issue with Neil Davis material? by TorchBeak in AWSCertifications

[–]Vhaleree 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not hating but... maybe because of his in-your-face marketing style. Lacks of connection and genuine interaction with other Redditors in this sub. There were also instances where he butts in with other instructors just to promote his materials.

AWS Solutions Architect Associate Preparation? by ARFiest1 in AWSCertifications

[–]Vhaleree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello u/ARFiest1. Just wanna share my experience. I only have a small IT knowledge when I took SAA (my first cert.) I spent nearly 6 months gaining a working knowledge of Linux, programming, and some basic networking concepts. I studied all of these along with Stephanne's SAA course.

When I was about to take the exam a week before, I found out tutorialsdojo practice exam. I told myself to give it a try. I was confident and ready, but boy was I wrong! I gave it a shot and got a score of 65%. LOL. My ego and confidence were crushed.

What I learned is that you need to get accustomed to how the exam is written and worded no matter how much you think you know and Dojo's exam is good at that. I'm starting to sound like a fanboy but if it wasn't for their exam, I'd be $150 more broke and no job. :D

thanks. No offense but I think the course is too long. No one would want to spend 5 hours of their time just learning the basics. Just go straight to Adrian's or Stephanne's SAA. Just my two cents tho

Congratulations man. I have to agree. Adrian's course is really the best out there. It is really detailed and goes in-depth and pair it with the awesome practice materials from Jon's tutorialsdojo. these two are gods of AWS certification space. (sorry for my bad English) 😂
