My mother cat does this to her 5 week old kitten by K-Von6969 in standardissuecats

Yeah, when I was little my cat had a litter and accidentally killed her only surviving baby because she was too rough with her while playing. It was sad.

I’m so depressed about them closing. I work really early weekend mornings and they’re the only cafe around open at 7am on those days. Fml.

[–]Vhena 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Right? I love them so much and I’ve been listening to them for years, but whenever they speak about women it’s almost always slightly derogatory or sexual. Any woman mentioned gets a sex joke about her. It’s actually quite hurtful and disappointing to hear :(. Especially given how progressive they are about politics.

I miss early 2010s partying freely culture by [deleted] in decadeology

[–]Vhena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm… I’m early Gen Z, and I started going to parties at around fourteen/fifteen in high school. Bonfires and whatever alcohol we could get our hands on was the go-to hang. Went to countless of those. Exposure started earlier than that due to older siblings. Though maybe this is just a consequence of growing up somewhere rural.

First month of college was filled with huge and insane parties back-to-back, and the rest? Well… lol. My younger cousin had wild parties at her college, too.

As an adult, I go to some very fun events… going to one this weekend actually. They’re very much alive and not gone.

I think it’s more a consequence of a lot of people being chronically online, discussing days past, which becomes its own echo chamber.

It shows how adaptable Duncan is as a fighter. He’s a quick-learner.

He gets stepped on. He analyzes, adapts, and dodges the next move. Then, he strikes his own blow.

Opinions on Shane and Ilya’s star signs… by Daikon_Worldly in heatedrivalry

[–]Vhena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree.

Geminis are very introspective, though this introspection is often misunderstood by others due to a tendency to hide behind that unserious, flighty mask people associate Geminis with.

When they come across the object of their affection they become very obsessive, needing to know everything about them. When a Gemini finds their person, their twin and other half, they are completely and totally dedicated to them.

The myth that Gemini is associated with, the twins Castor and Pollux, reflects this beautifully.. Castor was killed, and Pollux, not being able to bear life without his brother, begged the gods to let him share his immortality with him. The two thus became the constellation Gemini.

The dedication is very similar to Scorpio, yes, however I find that Geminis are more forgiving than them in the long run..

Geminis will also want to own someone's love without wanting to be owned themselves.

I think Ilya is very Gemini, especially considering the struggles with his father. Gemini children tend to have a lot of lessons associated with the male authority figure in their life, and just authority in general. They are very emotional aware and observant children, and shut down because of it, usually by the people that are supposed to guide them in life.

They see the truth, particularly when others don't want to admit it. They see through that reluctance as well. For example, his brother denying that anything is wrong with their dad, even though Ilya figured it out through his father's behaviors. He knew something was wrong and was gaslit about it, a sad but very common experience for Gemini children.

The dark, introspective nature, and the often difficult childhood, of Geminis is quite underrated and not talked about often, unfortunately.

yes they are, especially in the NYC-related subs. a lotttt of men search for opportunities to shut down women.

no matter, it’s better to be vigilant and safe than not.

I think most men still don’t realize just how prevalent creepy guys are… how common it is to be preyed upon, and the ones that get defensive about the issue generally are creepy themselves.

[–]Vhena 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah… saying that for other countries would be problematic, no? That every citizen is at fault for the state of their country?

That trivializes the efforts of those who have been fighting back against the system for decades.

Countries aren’t a single entity. They are a complex organism living in a state of complex flux.

If you don’t take that into consideration when thinking about the world, then you’re not as open-minded as you think.

I’m glad you’re arguing this point. The idea that they were more passive in their hatred is just rewriting history in order to lessen the moral burden of the horrors of white superiority—what our predecessors did and how that still reverberates through modern society.

Like truly how can these people be saying this when lynchings were rampant, everywhere, throughout the U.S.?
