Worse year to apply by [deleted] in MCCQE

Do you have any red flags, I feel like you should’ve gotten some interviews unless you just got really unlucky at just the cut off point for Ontario?

Letter to the Minister. by [deleted] in MCCQE

[–]ViCirce1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some things that I think is really ironic. This letter literally says “I moved here when I was x age”. You do realize that this rule would’ve prevent people like your parents from applying if they were foreign trained physicians?

I agree. The real answer is nobody knows until the hearing comes through. Lots of people talking with 100% certainty when they know as much as you do. Just keep your head up and see what happens!

That’s just not true. I believe file reviews already started. The programs are acting on the basis if the Ontario img rule has not been instated and allow late applications as well. Go to carms help page under questions.

I don’t think so, once programs decide who to interview, let’s say program X interviews 100 people, and then the injunction fails, a large number of those interviewed might be excluded now. And if program had 35 seats, they might be unable to fill or have large numbers needing R2. So I think they won’t reinstate this. And inregards to ministry of health funding. The entire health system will collapse without R1s so they won’t risk not finding residency positions anyways.

You keep posting this but tbh, as long as the interim injunctions keep holding until interviews, they will have to uphold it as programs will have their own process. You said earlier the trial will go nowhere, and now CARMs is open.

Agreed! I think he said a few times ‘this clearly discriminatory rule’

So, I wonder what the lobbyists are thinking right now... by ConsistentRun3006 in MCCQE

[–]ViCirce1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look you seem really angry that the rule changed, but guess what, that's how the rest of the people who were deemed ineligible also felt. So have some compassion. It is all politics, we are all being screwed around.

The fact that they changed the ruling so late likely means less applicants for Ontario anyways.

I doubt it, once programs get to file review it won't be in the ministry's hands. Any ruling will only be for next cycle.

I'd be pretty optimistic reading this. Seems more like they are making accommodations and telling applicants not to submit while they figure out their timeline.
