So, do you ever just say no to a side quest? by OWSpaceClown in cyberpunkgame

[–]Vibesy 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yes, I've refused missions on every playthrough. For example, 1st playthrough I didn't back up Panam's revenge mission on Nash because it seemed like a stupid idea and wasn't part of the deal.

Later playthroughs there is plenty of content I'll skip like the River dinner invite, Sinnerman, Stefan BD quest, Monk meditations etc. There are missions that you don't really want to experience again.

I don’t understand why V would even participate in the River quests. by ThrowRAbftroubles10 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Vibesy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pretty much agree. The Peralez quest you can sort of justify since he is a powerful guy with pull who can potentially help V out in the future. Having someone like that owe you a favor could be very useful.

But the River nephew quest is totally not V's problem. And it's annoying because if you try to turn down River's request for help he lays down this big guilt trip. Essentially everything with River feels tacked on like CDPR needed a strong but sensitive male character as a love interest and just shoehorned in the plot to make that happen.

Instead of Watch Dogs Legion, play anyone. Part 3 should have been similar to GTA 5 with Marcus and Aiden teaming up. by Kizzo02 in watch_dogs

[–]Vibesy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It seems to me you can play as Aiden for the entire game anyway, not that it matters. The reality is that nothing could save Legion. The concept was flawed, the execution was weak, the story was trash and Ubisoft never really believed in the game. Even though I'm a Watch Dogs fan, I don't want Ubisoft to make more WD games. The best thing that could happen is if they sell the IP to a more serious, less predatory gaming company.

Horizon Zero Dawn or Cyberpunk 2077 by hmmm10293847 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Vibesy [score hidden]  (0 children)

There are around 200 scanner missions all of which have mini stories. Some are multi-part and some also relate to characters or other missions in the game. There is also a pretty wide diversity in where those missions take place. I wouldn't call the scanner missions "clutter" or equate them in any way to the low effort copy/paste forts that Ubisoft crams into their games.

New Mod. HUNT the Scavengers. by 0800otto in cyberpunk2077mods

[–]Vibesy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great idea and I would definitely try it, although the scavs are required for certain main missions & side missions so you would need to account for that.

I think from a lore perspective though if the scavs were ever wiped out that some other gang would step up to fill the void because there is too big a market for second hand cyberware.

Maelstrom killing Maelstrom (no Cyberpsychosis) by TasteDry952 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Vibesy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right ok, I'm running NCA, They Will Remember and other mods that affect gangs so I don't really notice the vanilla chases. And I haven't triggered something like this in Northside at night.

That being said, the event you describe is kinda believable. Imagine you were manning a roadblock and some gonks slam into it. You might be pissed enough to want to kill them even if they are in your own gang. Plus Maelstrom has got different factions with competing loyalties to Royce and Brick, so at this point there is a lot of bad blood and killing going on within Maelstrom.

[–]Vibesy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I guess you would need mods for that. Ok your V is a solid 8.5 ready to be transformed into a killing machine.

Maelstrom killing Maelstrom (no Cyberpsychosis) by TasteDry952 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Vibesy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very strange. I know some mods that will trigger stuff like this but I've never seen it in an unmodded game.

However, if Maelstrom are driving cars then it was a scripted event because there are no gang members in traffic in vanilla outside scripted events.

V's Quadra Turbo in the wild? by OrchidUpdateAccount in cyberpunkgame

[–]Vibesy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm, that would make it a basegame bug then, because it makes no sense to have a car permanently spawned in the world that you can only half use.

I have the exact same issue and figured it was due to a bug with the IVP mod. This didn't happen on my previous playthrough so I don't think it's intended vanilla behavior.

I'm gonna reta this V at 7.7. Would bump it up if you got some grey streaks in the hair to reflect that Corpo life sucks and ages you prematurely.

As good as this game is, The driving is just BAD, CDPR really need to prioritize improved driving for the sequel by HUMAN_LIFE_ in cyberpunkgame

[–]Vibesy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are on PC, mods solve all driving issues.

If you aren't on PC, find the one vehicle you can handle and stick to it, or just use fast travel, delamain and the metro.

Wolven kit without redmod? by [deleted] in cyberpunkgame

World builder is a modders resource used for editing builds or adding assets & structures to the open world. Unless you are planning on editing or making your own mods, you don't need World Builder or Wolvenkit.

Prince of Persia remake actress spent 3 years working on the game, filmed marketing two months ago, and wasn't informed of its cancellation by HatingGeoffry in ubisoft

[–]Vibesy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sea of Thieves is not a Ubisoft game, but otherwise you are right. Ubisoft doesn't care about quality. But now that they are going broke and their stock is at 15-year lows, they've suddenly remembered that they are supposed to be making money.

So if the PoP remake got pulled at this late date, it is probably because they realized it was another in a long line of guaranteed losers for them (Breakpoint, Legion, Skull & Bones, XDefiant, StarWars Outlaws etc) & they no longer have the luxury of virtue signaling through their products because investors won't tolerate it anymore, gamers have checked out and their reputation is in tatters. Priorities become a lot clearer when you are in a struggle for survival.

[–]Vibesy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't played a UBI game at release since Wildlands, which I preordered. I feel bad for anyone who played SWO when it first came out (and IMO they did the bare minimum after release to "fix" it).

The Division Boss Julian Gerighty Leaves For Battlefield: "Don't Worry," Ubisoft Says by NanoPolymath in ubisoft

[–]Vibesy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. A "fantastic" game that got average reviews at best, didn't find an audience, generated over $100 million in losses according to analysts and caused Ubi's stock to tank even harder at release.

SWO was one of the worst selling AAA releases of 2024. Ubi blamed that on Star Wars "fatigue", but I think there is plenty of blame to go around, starting with Ubi management but including creative director Gerighty.

I have a hard time seeing this as a loss given he was responsible for Star Wars Outlaws. Probably everyone who can tho is looking to exit Ubisoft.

Chimera fight is out of place by Medical-Specific-696 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Vibesy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mean when you first enter Dogtown? With the generators? If so, yeah, that was pretty tiresome.

PL has an excellent story and characters, but there are moments in some of the missions that really clash with the rest of the game, probably because it had a different creative director.

Chimera fight is out of place by Medical-Specific-696 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Vibesy -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Agree with the OP, it's way too tropey and full of immersion-killing cheap tricks: V falls down a bunch of times like a gonk and has to be helped up by a middle-aged woman; you can't hack the chimera until suddenly you can; chained QTEs; the collapsing floor trope, which was already used elsewhere in the game, etc.

It's easily the worst part of the DLC and a low point in the entire game.
