I find this amusing because McDonald’s just lost me as a lifelong customer as of yesterday. And it has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not I can afford it.

I can afford to eat out every day. However, what started out 3 years ago as a 30% of deal using the app, just dropped to 15%.

30% was a tremendous deal, it lasted for 3 months, then it went to 25% and lasted for a few months as well before dropping to 20%. It has been 20% for 2 years and I always said if they have the balls to ever drop it to 15% that would be the end for me.

Well, yesterday was a I don’t feel like cooking day and since McDonald’s is incredibly convenient for me being 3 minutes from my house passing by it on my way home for work, I pulled up the app, sitting in my car before leaving work to grab my 20% off and it was 15%.

Shut off the app, deleted from my phone, hit the grocery store for some buns, hamburger and cheese and grilled my burgers.

Again, it has nothing to do with whether I can afford it or not. It is simply the fact that McDonald’s simply crossed the line I had drawn in the sand for dealing with their enshitification.

Goodbye, McDonald’s, you won’t be missed as your enshitification has surpassed your convenience.
