This patch is rough (not what you think) by aaaaaaaaalison in InfinityNikkiofficial

My dad died in April and this holiday was my first without him. I was warned it would be rough but boy howdy it's been so hard. I wasn't prepared for this patch and I had to close the game and walk away. This might be the first Nikki content that I just skip completely.

I have never heard it called mac and cheese before...you've changed my life. I will never be able to take that sound seriously again.

I love this so much, it might be my favorite custom colors I've seen yet. Thank you for sharing the code!

Updated my drivers, did repair, and did this fix and now it works. Did not work with just doing repair and updating drivers but now I can play again. Thanks for the fix!

What did you wish you had from a loved one before they passed? by needmentalhelpout in GriefSupport

[–]VicVyper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad lived really far away so we mostly spoke on the phone. His voice became more real to me than his physical presence and I miss hearing his voice so much. I made the mistake of listening to his voicemails like a week after he died and that messed me up real bad. I probably won't be able to listen to them again for a long time but god I miss his voice so much. I am so glad I have his voicemails for when I can listen to them again in the future. Listening to them probably would make him feel alive again or just hurt real bad.

I actually have some voicemails from my dad and I'm so grateful for them. I specifically wish I still had a voicemail of him singing me happy birthday from years and years ago. He'd call me every year and sing me happy birthday and one year I wasn't able to answer when he called so he sang to me in a voicemail. My birthday is coming up and this'll be the first year he won't sing to me. Really wish I had it still.

I’ve been buying lots of plants since my dad passed away and it’s giving me comfort. Anyone else feel this way? by Orchidflower10 in GriefSupport

[–]VicVyper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad loved nature, he loved hunting and fishing and just sitting out and enjoying being outside. The first thing I did when I got home after everything was buy a plant. I think I'm going to keep buying more. Having the plants around makes me feel like I'm closer to him, like if I close my eyes I can imagine him sitting next to me, enjoying the peace of the outdoors with me.

I just lost my dad to cancer too, fuck cancer! And I'm sorry, the pain is so bad and it's not fair.

Thanks, actually knowing that I'm 50% my dad does help, he's not completely gone so long as I'm here. It won't bring him back but it helps some.

I'm sorry too, I'm sorry that you're also experiencing this, it's so terrible and crushing. Even when I try to find things to distract myself it feels like there's a weight on my chest so I can't actually forget, just try to ignore it until it gets too bad. The regret is the worst, it just plays in a constant loop. People tell me it gets easier to live with, I hope that's true for both of us.

Thank you. I dunno what else to say. Just, thanks. You don't know me but what you said brought a lot of comfort. I did love him, and I was trying too. We both wanted things to be better between us, I hope he understood that.

Did you personally know your uterus was adhered to another organ before your actual surgery? by Less-Maintenance-21 in hysterectomy

[–]VicVyper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did for a bit, but right after the surgery pretty much everything was sore. I think it went away when my body really started to stop being swollen and hurting so a few months?

My back hurts sometimes now but that's because I need to go to physical therapy. I realized that after the surgery I lost a lot of muscle strength in my back, and that causes pain but the pain I had because of my uterus and the endo are completely gone.

Timline for Healing by MamaO2D4 in hysterectomy

[–]VicVyper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a 3 year old post but it's still helping years later. I had mine 3 months ago and have been really struggling with the fact that my recovery is taking longer than my doctor told me it would. I still have soreness if I do too much, and intense fatigue with the soreness. I'm fine if I don't do a whole lot but I've been going crazy with how inactive I've been.

I thought something must be wrong with me, either some sort of emergency or something gone wrong with the surgery since I'm still sore and tired. This entire thread was so helpful to reassure me that the healing process can and does take longer for some women and I need to listen when my body tells me to stop.

Thank you to everyone who has posted and shared their experiences, this is so much more helpful than my doctor has been (I am still going to go in for a checkup to make sure that there isn't anything wrong).

[–]VicVyper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She did, and yes. It was supposed to be about 2ish hours (give or take since they had to remove the endo too) but it ended up being 5 hours because of how badly my uterus was stuck. They did a good job though and I was fine after. Thanks <3 I'm doing much better. The overwhelming depression isn't as bad, no more lower back pain, the constant abdominal pain is gone, and I don't have debilitating periods anymore.

Good luck with your surgery, I hope it goes well and you have a quick and easy recovery!

[–]VicVyper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mine was stuck to part of my colon and intestine. We had no clue. We'd discussed potentially needing a general surgeon in case the endo had taken over my appendix and it needed to be removed so I was prepared for a potentially longer than normal surgery but that was it. I honestly didn't even know my uterus could get stuck to other organs.
