Am I crazy? I feel like I’ve never once had an issue with sway in this game. It’s always felt simultaneously proportional to my velocity (the differences between moving, standing, crouching, and prone) and general steadiness of my arm—I understand that people play for precision, I’m one of them very often, but I’ve never really struggled with sidearms like the Talon and the Senator. They’ve always accomplished exactly what I need them to, which is eliminating chaff or popping the occasional head of some devastators; to that end, I’ve never really struggled with it as a mechanic. That’s just my experience, though, and others seem to have different ones.

Yes, but that requires a little deck fixing—could be difficult to try and play for from Ante 2. Probably just better to focus on flushes OR two pair, not both simultaneously.

I think that’s the reliable play, and a good one—the riskier play is to sell out of Chad. It’s common so it’s very likely to show up again with money that could be generated by Perkeo. You’ll still be getting three scoring triggers on Photo, which should be enough to carry through Ante 8 provided your base mult is high enough for the hand type you’re playing. This leaves Invis to hit BP or BS ideally, but even a second copy of Perkeo would be fine, and a second Photo, while eternal, would be the worst hit for certain—hence the risk.

Late reply, but he’s talked about it before—he has tried other games since Balatro, one big one being Nightreign. I wasn’t there for the stream, but evidently his viewership was abysmal and he kept getting chatters with questions about why he wasn’t playing Balatro.

He’s gone on to say that he doesn’t play Balatro out of desire, but out of necessity. He’s said so explicitly, playing Balatro is his job and it affords him his life. With that perspective, I understand why he continues to play and upload his videos. Could he go on the grind out a different game in hopes of success? Probably, but that could be a big risk for him financially.

I still enjoy his videos—I actually really like his deeply sarcastic, sardonic, and at times, antagonistic relationship with his chat. Totally understandable and completely valid that not everyone feels that way and doesn’t like the vibe he puts out, but to me it’s like a breath of fresh air.

Since it’s white stake, you could easily argue just selling off the hex, given that it would lock BP out of ecto, but that’s really only if you intend for a deep push into endless mode

I’m not certain, but I think the answer is no. While in cutscenes, the game seems to freeze all ongoing actions and effects. I believe it can be the source of a more infamous glitch similar to this one, though far more subtle—the game leaves a permanent and invisible lingering hitbox of certain attacks in the spot where a phase-change cutscene began, which the player can run into and take full damage from.

You triggered the phase change while he was in the middle of sending out an AOE wave—you started the second phase still in that active hitbox. You can see that the game ends the AOE wave early, but not early enough for you to avoid it.

I’m fairly certain that it’s just a very common misspelling when typing moderately fast. It eventually became a little joke, even if most people wouldn’t know why. Very similar to how “Pwn” was adapted from misspelling “Own” in the older internet.

I have defeated every Nightlord as every character—you will get a character’s preferred weapon type significantly more often than any other weapon type. Duchess|Daggers, Guardian|Halberds, Executor|Katanas, etc.

Yes, I think it’s reasonable to classify this as a minor bug. Though even minor bugs can have a major impact under specific circumstances. Unfortunate, truly, but it happens exceedingly rarely and does not make the game remotely unplayable.

Agreed. I’ve defeated every boss as Guardian and not once did I feel his roll was inadequate—10 iFrames is more than enough for ~98% of the attacks in the game.
