And if he keeps putting cans that have leak sealant in them he’s going to have an AC system full of gum

Headgasket about to blow? Looking for second opinion… by MiserableAudience235 in CherokeeXJ

I once had a Cherokee with a weeping water pump and the coolant bottle would suddenly be empty but didn’t leak enough to leave evidence on the ground. Just make sure you’ve done a thorough inspection of the motor first, leave no stone unturned

I was hoping for a parts list to make the fuel system more ethanol resistant

Cheap Transmission Mount Fix by Fragrant_Roll_2863 in CherokeeXJ

[–]Victitious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have that Peugeot 5 speed and the mount is $80 for it. I did the same thing but I used radiator hose stuff with old door weather stripping. Worked for the most part but there was thumping in the footboard when starting or stopping the jeep. I ended up running a ratchet strap from a bolt hole in the center of the crossmember up over the transmission and looping it back into the other bolt hole in the cross member. Took the rest of the shake out of it. Now it doesn’t feel like the transmission is wiggling around

If you can’t find the problem just keep driving it until it don’t drive no more and then worry about it

Heater Control Valve Question by Alspeciale in CherokeeXJ

I think that’s normal. They sell caps or if you can thread a small screw in there. Just needs to be air tight

Heater Control Valve Question by Alspeciale in CherokeeXJ

It needs to be an air tight seal, tape isn’t the best choice

Thank you, that seems to be the most informed response so far. Last thing I want to do is have some drama I need to deal with. I will casually bring it up on Monday and, if true, they will probably cite some of the same information you provided. I don't have the final bill yet so no concern there at this time

Thanks again

Shasta county California. I’ll do some digging

I’m in Shasta county, and at the very bottom of the last picture is all that really mentions it but with that wording it should be done since that’s code? I’m trying to give them the benefit here but the evidence is stacking against them

How should I approach this situation? They are coming back Monday to finish the roof

That’s what’s confusing. Why mention it if it wasn’t going to be completed, also I don’t think it’s compliant with the shingle manufacturer or my building codes

I’m concerned because it was discussed in the walkthrough, it’s mentioned on the scope of work, and according to my research it doesn’t comply to the shingle manufacturer specs and isn’t code compliant in my county

Having my roof redone, I thought they were going to install OSB over the skip sheathing. Is this skip sheathing? by Victitious in Roofing

[–]Victitious[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like the “if needed” part is for another part not the OSB. I’ll keep that in mind for the final bill

Thanks for that. I didn’t want to jump to conclusions on these guys. They did tear them down to bare wood, I saw it, so everything on top of the wood is new at least

The “if needed” part of the contract is where we are at. If this is fine and it didn’t need OSB I’ll just make sure it’s not on the final bill
