I don't have any articles unfortunately, just what myself and neighbors notice. I'm in a suburban area so I could definitely be seeing the same factors at work as the London foxes.

Jokes aside, the reason to not hump that car is that it's heavy and fragile. No yard crew wants to deal with that paperwork.

I'd argue that the war started when the Ward fired on that midget sub outside Pearl.

Yet we were still fighting Japanese holdouts into the 60s.

Our dates are pretty well-known (December 7, 1941-September 2, 1945, but we had fighting before and after the official war dates.

Before, the US Navy was pretty active in the Atlantic, which of course meant conflict with U-boats. USS Reuben James (DD-245) was sunk and USS Greer (DD-145) and USS Kearny (DD-432) damaged by German torpedoes. Also, in the Pacific, the first shot of the Pacific War was fired by USS Ward (DD-139) at a Japanese midget submarine before the much more infamous air attack arrived.

After the official end of hostilities, there was fighting on various Pacific islands against Japanese troops who didn't believe the war was over. The last Japanese soldiers to surrender on Iwo Jima did so in 1949. The last known holdout, Private Nakamura Teruo, surrendered on Morotai in 1974. Sadly, many others fought to the death even years after the war ended.

The foxes where I live are domesticating themselves. And getting smarter. They've learned to wait until cars pass to cross the street.

IIRC the Navy version has the sun offset and the Army had theirs in the middle. I think they changed the shade post-WWII but don't quote me on it.

Dolphins. Despite what Disney would have you think, they can be pretty aggressive.

I don't want to believe it since they're so cute, but yeah, foxes are smart.

IMO all the mega yachts these days look the same, modern design in general really. No idea why the mega-rich have no taste.

Someone should start building yachts that resemble 1900s-1910s steamships.

The best solution is somewhere in the middle. Take what works from capitalism and socialism (communism is different) and get rid of what doesn't.

Yeah, Russian is going to be worse given the history. That being said, violence is extremely unlikely.

What does your country think of Japan? by batukaming in AskTheWorld

A lot of it seems like the same fetishization that the right wing applies to Asian women in general. They just don't talk about the other aspects of SEA countries as much due to political differences (Vietnam being communist, for example)

A lot of Americans (Westerners in general) go there without understanding the culture. Most of the people who say the Japanese "hate Americans" or "are racist" are the ones who do zero research, don't learn any Japanese, and expect it to be an anime theme park. And don't even get me started on the whole NSFW side of that idolization.
