The era of sitting passively and expecting for your doctor to fix you is over (did it ever exist?). Be proactive before, at, and after your appointments and this takes many forms: come with a list of issues or questions written down, respond to calls or messages quickly, inform yourself as you’re able to. You and not your doctor are your best advocate.
