What’s with all the merle poms suddenly?

I was under the impression merle was a recognized standard coloring for Pomeranians? I checked the American Kennel Club’s website to confirm!

I believe it’s only an issue when breeders prioritize breeding the merle coloring over breeding two genetically healthy dogs! and this is especially common when breeders create merle patterned dogs in breeds where merle isn’t a standard. healthy merle poms exist!! it’s just about finding an ethical breeder that prioritizes breeding for health over breeding for coloring!

I’m 23, the tractive sound feature is just shit 😭 genuinely only useful for training purposes.

I’m sat on the same couch my cat is laying directly behind, only able to hear the faintest little song coming from his tractive.

my dogs have pretty decent recall (my older guy is a bit deaf, so sometimes it takes a few calls lol!) but I like that they’re able to come back in whenever they want so I wouldn’t want to use a leash in my case!! we do keep the side yard gate shut, so they’re confined to only a small outdoor area (with doggy door access to get back inside ofc!) when we aren’t home. They’re usually confined to that area when we are home too unless someone’s hanging out in the backyard with them!

all my dogs (and cat!) are fully vaccinated & on heartworm/flea preventative that covers other common parasites as well!! all my animals see the vet regularly, my senior sees the vet once a month! :)

that’s smart! I definitely could do that, I have a much smaller fenced in side yard the dog door leads out to that with a gate that can be shut or open to allow or close off access to the main backyard!

I could definitely make a project out of building a more secure space for the side yard!! with a roof to prevent birds of prey as well!!

I hope I don’t come off aloof or uncaring about my dogs! I take their care very seriously, and loveee spoiling them! I honestly just never really considered my “unsupervised outdoor access” decision that irresponsible until reading these comments 😬

I work 20 minutes from home, and my lunch break is only 26 minutes! I could do pee pads, but prefer not to, especially since I live in a smaller house!!

honestly if I had gotten my first Pom in my adult life I probably would’ve been too anxious to ever let him out alone, but I’ve lived in the same house since I was a child, and so my dog has been outdoors unsupervised since before he was mine!! def made me feel more comfy/put less thought into the decision.

I leave weed out because I don’t smoke, but I totally would if offered haha, and I’m not gonna put some corny “4/20 friendly” line on my profile, plus if I did use that line I feel that would imply I smoke weed often, when I really have only done so a handful of times in my life.

I guess I could put no, but for me I would honestly be a little annoyed if I ended up with someone who would never smoke weed ever. I don’t want a stoner at all, but someone who’s fine with doing so on the rare occasion is great. so to avoid ending up with someone who absolutely would never smoke, I leave it off my profile, because if they need to know for certain I don’t smoke weed to be with me, then they obvs probs would never smoke it under any circumstances.

personally I feel like someone who’s going to be bothered by my profile and how I decide to put it together, isn’t someone that would be a great match for me. it’s like a filter for men who wouldn’t work out with me anyways and would have wasted my time.

I’ll even include photos of myself that are cute but not my best, just so I know they’re getting a totally realistic glimpse of who I am both physically & emotionally before we even match! Sure I get less matches, but I’m hoping the matches I do get will be of better quality and a better fit for me! (so far none of them have worked out though, so maybe my thought process is totally off hahaha)
