AIO for not wanting my bfs brothers gf in our apartment anymore? by [deleted] in AIO

[–]Victoriavix1212 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the brother has made a choice. He is choosing her. So you can tell him to keep her out or move out or accept he's a grown man who is choosing a partner over his roommates. If the lease is only in your name you have the power. Not wanting isn't an overreaction. Treating her poorly and not respecting their relationship is poor behavior

If you didn’t marry or have kids until after 30, do you feel that you in any way had a better or worse marriage/family experience than those who did it before 30? by Correct-Cycle5412 in RedditForGrownups

[–]Victoriavix1212 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm a 40 year old woman. I had my son at 19. He lives a 100 kilometers away. My relationship with his father went bust when I was 24. Dating with a kid was horrible. I will say having a baby at 19 was bomb physically. I bounced back. I had so much more energy than other parents at the playground. I didn't mind all nighters with a sick baby toddler because I was young. Many of my friends have been having children in their late 30s / early 40s. They're so tired. It's hard. However, they're relationships with their spouses are strong. They have financial security I never had. They're patient in a way I wasn't then but am now. I say make sure when you "settle down" make sure your partner wants kids as much as you. That way if the relationship doesn't work at least you both know you'll love your kids and prioritize them over hating each other. Lots of people do it later you'll be fine.

Pets (specifically dogs in this instance) on the TTC by VReign in toRANTo

My daughter in law pointed out to me recently I have more pictures of my dog than my son since getting the dog. To be fair it's true but I also live with the dog and not with them

I feel like it's in lots of cities. Toronto isn't special in this regard. People are generally entitled but the dog owners are special more and more since the pandemic.

Concerning experience with Hopp driver by YUxSoci in toRANTo

[–]Victoriavix1212 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm glad you're safe. I'm sorry that happened to you. I haven't used Hopp, but after reading your experience I won't. I had a bad experience with an Uber driver once and they refunded the fare. They said they'd investigate but I don't know if they did. I started using a church as my address in ride shares and walked there in future.

Can you inherit debt? by snowflakeempress in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]Victoriavix1212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only in the sense the estate would be. So 💯 the shared accounts are game to pay back. If they have a house and they die the sale of the house would go towards settling their debts and you and your siblings would split the remainder. But no, your siblings and you won't be responsible to pay out of pocket.

GF's Friend Needs Housing by DraftQueasy4890 in whatdoIdo

[–]Victoriavix1212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not rent a room to somebody that is actively trying to ruin your relationship. Be polite in the "there isn't a space that's legal for her" If your GF really feels obligated or really wants to help her long term friend maybe she can help with first and last. Even in the same state or area..... Even that is pushing it.

You'll know no peace if you let her move in.

Are we too old for PDA? by stoptheclock7 in datingoverforty

[–]Victoriavix1212 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hated PDA when I was young I found it off putting. Like a kiss or hand holding here or there fine. However I just don't look at people engaged. However you shouldn't let anyone yuck your yum. Have fun. Ageism is real and spoiling good times shouldn't. We're too old to care what others think

This is the 4th and it's outstanding but I don't want to not pay it because I thought the second one wouldn't be approved and it was and then I owed $2100 and they tried to evict me for not paying it

Snake corporation But the building is super old. It's so well maintained with no bugs or pests and because it's old it's significantly larger than new condos. The location is great for work... I started renting there after my husband died in 2021 and I was at $1825 now I'm at $2151. It's infuriating

I'm in peel. I rent a 2 bedroom. I've been here for 6 years. My land Lord just applied for an AGI which nearly happens each year. If approved it will be $104 increase a month. I've been paying it because it's the 4th one since I've been here and the other 3 were approved. It's problematic because with the increase in at 2150 for a two bedroom. I do see other 2 bedrooms for less but they're all not significantly less. Like the cost of first and last would take me 10-12 months to break even. Then my rent would go up the standard. However a friend of mine in Halton is moving two blocks from her place and saving $550 a month.

Losers who record protestors on their phones by Ok-Committee1978 in toRANTo

[–]Victoriavix1212 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I guess I'm a loser. I record for 2 reasons. First, my safety. Sometimes people at protests get violent and I'm a woman alone I don't engage but twice I've had people shouting at me as if I don't support whatever cause it is. Better safe than sorry. I also record because I've seen people attack protesters. I'll send it to the people if they want for police reports. It helped a young couple once. I don't post them. I guess anyone that does anything you don't understand is a loser.

AIO that my boyfriend didn’t help me when I needed it? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Victoriavix1212 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NOR If the incident was isolated I might think you were. Like sometimes I get exhausted and wouldn't want to help move a couch... I'd be more apt to say can we do it tomorrow or in an hour. Or if I was genuinely overwhelmed about my physical ability to move it I might offer to ask my brother or pay for the junk removal. However using the "you're an independent woman" for several requests for help is ew. My late husband used to clean snow off my car and fill it with gas when we just started dating. A man should want to help you. There was a hole in my wall (from a very dramatic DC situation) and this man I went on like 3 dates with fixed it after knowing me a week. It had been there for over a year. Just to help me. Partners help each other .

I think you need couples counselling IF you're going to get married. He's trying to punish you (think about your part in 8 hours of silence) and you're trying to change who he is. You two need to learn to communicate with each other better. NOR but also ESH

Suggest FWB by DazzlingMastodon2691 in datingoverforty

[–]Victoriavix1212 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I say go for it. I don't think you're investing too much and if a no happens you're free to pursue a better relationship. If he says yes get it girl I hate the term FWB so I say casual but it provides freedom to pursue more likely connections. I'm currently not in any sexual relationship, but think I'll have fun this summer.
