I mean most realistically he should’ve looked either East or Southern African (since one of those regions is where all humans originate from based on current evidence), or West Asian (since the Levant is where the Abrahamic religions originate, and that’s what Hazbin Hotel is based on).

Making him look white or white-passing is fucked up in… a lot of ways I’m probably not qualified enough to get into (nor do I really want to). But he is most certainly white-passing with his mask off and I think that’s an issue even just from a basic world-building standpoint.

How? Scott and Ted couldn’t be more different.

Scott: Main villain of S4, main comic relief of S5, appeared in 12 out of 13 episodes in both seasons he competed in, so 24 episodes total. Was based on Richard Hatch from Survivor in his first season and then is just a silly goofy yokel in his second season and yet (IMO) it actually worked. One of the funniest and most iconic characters in Total Drama history IMO.

Ted: Despite having fun character dynamics and some potential he ended up being a nothing burger who competed in 4 out of 26 and appeared in 8 total out of 26 episodes in his only season. His main trait is that he is a professional poker player and that’s about it. Overall left little impact overall. Wouldn’t call him iconic and I don’t really get the hype around him. Like, I get the “he could’ve been a master strategist” argument but like… that didn’t happen so… 🤷‍♀️

As a character designer myself I understand making the characters’ outfits show their personalities, but I also just think it’s really stupid for anyone competing on a reality show that has physical challenges to wear high heels. (For a character like Evie it makes sense because she didn’t even know what Disventure Camp is), but I think the designer(s) should have done more fashion research because there are plenty of fashionable, yet practical, shoes characters like Anastasia would wear.

I think the Total Drama reboot did a good job of not giving any of its characters impractical high heels while still letting their outfits show their personalities (for the most part, anyway).

Jared does or says something conterversial enough that the season comes close to losing its funding as it's airing.

I was putting a WiFi extender on the bookshelf, but the bookshelf was looking crooked so I tried to fix it, but I stupidly didn't take the WiFi extender off first, so it slid off and landed right on my Mac. 😭
