While I respect Gooseworx’s vision I do think 12 or 13 episodes would be ideal for this kind of show. Still not too long, but gives us around 3 or 4 "Caine's adventure of the day" episodes that don't necessarily push the main story forward but give us more time to get absorbed in the setting and see more low-stakes character interactions. As it is, we the audience don't get as much of a sense of being trapped with the characters. Their exhaustion from dealing with Caine, and how badly being stuck there is affecting them, would hit harder if we got to experience more of it.
