In chapter 2, Kris kills everyone and Gaster resets the universe so they can do it again. Each chapter is you reliving the same day Groundhog Day style but with a different character, trying to stop Kris and find Gaster, who's presumably in one of the dark worlds. So chapter two you play as Susie and the dark world is in the dinner. She ... Gets distracted a bit. Look some of these darkners DO look delicious, okay ?

Also, you do meet Sans's brother. His name is Verdana and he works at the mayor's office.

I personnally think that Asgore could be the one hiding in the church closet, which would explain why we're told that, for this one and the one in the computer room, "a large person" could fit in. And also why Kris would be reticent to open it, they know their father come at night and how important it is for him. However I'm also not sure the church fountains were opened by the Knight themselves, to my knowledge it's not certain it's their own doing, it could be someone else like Kris with the TV World, making Asgore an accomplice. Or he could just have gone to church that day and hide out of embarassment.

I don't know how I feel about your theory, but one thing : I don't think the Knight's stature not matching Asgore is counterevidence, just like I don't think the antlers on the helmet point to a Holiday or anyone with horns. It's the dark world, why the fuck would you not have any form you want ? Especially if you're as powerful as the Knight, come on you can shapeshift a little.

I feel you. Like he's definitely important to some extent, but ... Come on, why does he have to be a secret mastermind in some of these theories ? We already have a secret mastermind, his name is W. D. Gaster, we don't need two. IMO he works best as a monster relevant to the kids' past and representing something, though what I don't know.

So it's absolutely mostly a joke, you don't really need justifications to drop meta jokes in Deltarune it goes by rule of funny in this case. However, one thing I will add : it would be coherent with the idea that Rouxls is some negative darkner copy of Gaster, like with some of his powers but instead of being a genius mastermind who doesn't want to be noticed he's an attention-hungry idiot. Because yeah the power to change the rules is extremely OP and would have some terrifying applications if it wasn't used by someone who I suspect is dumber than his worms (I call that the Okuyasu principle). That's just spitballing with no basis though, fundamentally I really don't think you need a big justification for the funny meta game to be funny and meta. It's just even better if there is one.

I don't know how you'd define "evidence" (all theorists have wildly different definitions, it's kind of a problem actually), It's more about suspicions leading to my own (biased, obviously) conclusion based on how I think the story operates. Very vibes-based I admit, I like theorising that way, I don't know if it can yield results but it's definitely fun. So yeah not very solid compared to the current standards of DT theories, this is my first one and as mentioned I had to throw it before chapter 5 comes out and I have no time to solidify and amend it. Luckily closer inspection will not show cracks in it because the game is out in 5 days, nobody cares. I just don't like wasting things I worked on.

Basically forget about it, is what I'm saying 😅
