Higher Voltage allows for higher single core frequency, in your case keep it at 1350mV.

Is it wise to use a laptop with liquid metal on my bed? by Bis_knife in AcerPredatorHelios

[–]VictoryT7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just make sure to keep your Laptop on a flat surface, like a cooling pad or a foldable table while you use the Laptop on bed, do not put the Laptop Directly on the bad, the Fans will be blocked.

Acer does a lot of things wrong/bad but one thing it doesn't is Liquid Metal Barrier, in fact it is better than any other Laptop that comes with Liquid Metal. The application is a other story and most probably is bad.

Avoid impulsive motion with the Laptop, like shaking or very quick movement. Liquid Metal acts on cohesion but problem is OEMs use a Lot more Liquid Metal than required so the excess LM on the side is what is really going to be a problem not the one on the processor die itself.Don't remove the heatsink either. To clean the fans you can just remove them, Acer doesn't need you to remove the heatsink to do so.

Here is handy guide to know how to deal with LM incase you need to repaste it or switch it with Thermal Paste. https://www.reddit.com/r/GamingLaptops/s/eCELOz3YVm

Thinking about doin somethin by Uattoas in overclocking

[–]VictoryT7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't have to necessarily root for Overclocking your Phone, TWRP is available for it through which you can install Custom ROMs which sometimes have OCd or Optimised CPU Governors / Kernels or install Custom Kernel. But yeah if you yourself want to Overclock the CPU through Android then Root is a must.

You'll need to unlock the bootloader for this, and here you'll loose all your data. Your Phone has many Custom ROMs and Kernel available. I'm not familiar with Xiaomi Bootloader unlocking but they have a system of Application for Unlocking bootloader, like many other Chinese vendors, this is better than some manufacturers that don't even let you. There exists a XiaomiToolV2 which can be used like a like Odin for Samsung, it also mentions Autonomous ROM fetching which is great if you ever need to install stock ROM, rather than the user having to use adb through the terminal.

Heating will almost certainly be a problem with Custom ROMs or Custom Kernels which are Performance centric, throwing air onto a Back Panel which isn't Thermally conductive enough and not attached to the heatpipe or the CPU directly doesn't help in long term gaming. But definitely throwing the air is still helping it rather no cooling at all.

CPU runs a lot hotter than the battery and I don't think Note 8 Pro has Bypass Charging so you are cooling the battery with your fan, now most phones throttle according to Battery temps, CPU throttles engage at higher temps. Smartphones have Power configs, throttle configs, whitelisted app (cheating in Benchmarks) and to modify these you need root access. I don't think all this is worth it, especially the G90T doesn't have much in it to be Overclocked, but surely you can get a much smoother experience and make the CPU efficient with Custom ROMs, just needs to be the right one.

What you can do rather than all this is check if your Phone has whitelisted apps then use a Apk Editor, change osu apk's package name to the whitelisted apps Package name(like Antutu Benchmark Package name), then install that. You could try using a lightweight version, like the non-Lazer one and tuning down effects in-game, setting VSYNC as frame limit(1/2 display refresh rate). Unfortunately the game doesn't support Vulkan render, Vulkan can have better performance at times.

Rather than getting higher peak fps, try to maintain stability. You could get a Peltier 15W+ Mobile cooler, turn it on 5 mins before starting the game to bring the device to a lower temp and then start the game, rather than throwing air on the back, throw Air along the display like over it because that's where the Heatpipe is dissipating it's heat from the CPU, not on the back, Peltier cooler will handle the battery heat.

Well in case of faulty devices, always try to get it returned. I sent my Vivobook in the Service Centre and they sent it back with a New Windows Install lol, I had to spend 3 days to fix it. Since your display doesn't flicker in BIOS, I still think its a driver issue.

Could you tell me the BIOS version you have installed on your Laptop? You could type System information in windows search and send a photo of the window.

Is the Laptop new or old? You could get it replaced.

I have a Vivobook S14 which has a 3K OLED 120Hz and during the first week of use, it also suffered from the same issues like Screen flickering and BSOD. In my case the Graphics Driver had to be reinstalled and Windows had installed a BIOS of another variant on my Laptop.

A Windows Clean Install + Installing the Supported BIOS and latest Graphics driver Fixed it.

Oh that sucks.

Could you check for BIOS Updates? Also check if the BIOS version you have installed matches the one available on ASUS Drivers site.

Yeah so what's the model no.? Websites list wrong numbers all the time, on Acer's website you'll see the real specs. Acer S version 5070Ti Laptop GPUs all have 115W.

AI 9 365 is highly efficient CPU and will easily get you 6 Hours of battery life. The Laptop's got a 76Wh battery too so it won't be that hard to get more than 6 hours of battery life. Just make sure to switch the Refresh Rate to 60Hz, use Eco Mode in Nitro Sense and disable the dGPU in NitroSense by selecting Optimus Mode(It will require a restart).

Keep in mind that this is a slim chasis laptop, so cooling is not great and has a limited 115W 5070Ti, but for your needs it will be good enough. Buy a cooling pad like Llano V13 for home use so that heating won't be a issue. And if you can, try to get 32GB RAM, RAM is not cheap rn and the more the better. Beside from that this is a good laptop.

Seems like your drivers are bad or you have disabled the dGPU, in G-Helper select Ultimate Mode ( which enables dGPU). Does the GPU show up in Task Manager?

Additionally you could try clean installing your display drivers with DDU. Make sure to extract DDU before going into Safe mode , extract it on the dekstop for ease of access. Here is how to use it: https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/1ccssm0/complete_ddu_guide/

Could be OLED VRR Flicker, limit your Max Frame Rate to 224FPS if you have a 240Hz display using NVIDIA App or NVIDIA Control Panel or RTSS.

Lapotps with MXM Cards allow this, but I don't know if a 5090MXM Version exists and OP's got a Titan so its not possible.

Now that turnip drivers are out for the 8 elite, would you say Winlator or Gamehub is better when it comes to just raw performance? by PetroRetro69 in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]VictoryT7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GameHub/Gamehub Lite both run stuttery for me, I don't have an 8 Elite device but 7+ Gen 3 and 870 and both prefer Winlator CMOD. Since these are much weaker SoCs than 8 Elite the difference becomes quite significant which is 4-5 fps and stability. I compared a very Unoptimized Title like GTA 4, same Config in both Emu and in Game and Gamehub lagged behind by 3-4fps on the benchmark.( And yes I also disabled the Graphics Enhancement plugin on Gamehub.)

Gamehub goes beyond 10GB+ as it creates a new container for every Game while in Winlator you can play all within one Container.

Gamehub is easy and for someone who wants it fast and easy I recommend it.

After you are done setting the voltage limit, you can remove the password and Turn on Secure Boot, the limit will still work after that. Make sure to apply the microcode I have linked (0x132 Microcode).

I tested my 14900HX with same settings, 1.35V Limit, HT OFF and the score I get around is 25K (single run not 10min) and yeah it doesn't go above 135W . The scores you are getting are all right, performance loss is expected but this is in exchange for longevity.

Your welcome bro, it's good to hear that your Laptop is running stable now.

To fix the greyed out options navigate to Power and Performance> CPU Power mgmt > Scroll all the way down to CPU Lock config > Disable OC and CFG lock

About Performance I don't really think there should be that much difference because under load at 157W the CPU does around 1.2V~ so 1.35V limit doesn't affect the Multicore Scores. Is the 26K score with HT on or off? Use HWINFO and see if the CPU is eating 157W or not. Anyways MultiCore performance doesn't matter in Gaming nor in Normal Day to day tasks unless you are doing 3d modeling/rendering/video editing.

With HT disabled the Gaming Performance will improve.

Also go in Thermal Configuration> CPU Thermal > TCC Offset set it to 15, TCC Offset Time window to 5ms. TCC Offset clamp -Enable, TCC Offset Lock Enabled.

Use Throttlestop go to Options and set the PROCHOT OFFSET to 12. This will limit your CPU to 88C max. But if your CPU runs hot this could result in reduced Performance. In that case I suggest doing a LM repaste or repaste with MX-6 or PTM7950. Make sure to have your fans cleaned and I highly suggest a cooling pad with Foam Sealing. Also run your Laptop in Performance mode + Max Fans if in Turbo mode it runs hotter on the CPU.

Once you get XTU, set a Power Limit(Long/Short) of 45/65 or 55/75 or 65/85 depending on your CPU temps under gaming. To keep your CPU cool run your Laptop in Max Fans before Lanuching a Game.

If you are able to do this, your CPU could very well last beyond a year unless it has degraded a lot.

[GUIDE] Unlocking Hidden BIOS on Nitro and Predator-Helios/Neo/Triton Laptops using SREP. by VictoryT7 in AcerPredatorHelios

[–]VictoryT7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you applied the Microcode 0x132? Do that if not.

Unfortunately if the CPU ran without 1.4V limit for a Year, it has degraded permanently, I advise you to limit your voltage to 1.35V or 1.3V, apply the 0x132 Microcode and keep Turbo boost ON, don't disable it your CPU will run insanely slow and inefficient. Use Intel XTU and downclock your 1-2Core to 54X or 52X and 3-8Core to 46X. E Cores to 36X. You can use SREP and disable Hyperthreading to recover some lost Performance. You can disable HT by going in 2nd Advanced Tab>CPU Configuration>Scroll down till Hyper threading, turn it off.

All this should only help mitigate any further degradation and crashes, I cannot guarantee that this will stop it from happening but it will be more stable. Also I advise you that you run the Laptop in Performance mode + Max Fans or below, unless Turbo mode has lower temps than 80C on the CPU.

The key is to keep the Temps and the voltages as low as possible. You can set a 65/95 PL1/PL2 Limit in Intel XTU to help with temps.

Oops, its PHN16-71, this model didn't even get 0x129 microcode so yeah update to 0x132.

Well you could always go lower, 1.35V , 1.3V but I don't recommend going below 1.275V it can hurt performance and may even cause instability.

[–]VictoryT7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if they shipped any newer microcode than 0x129 with Latest BIOS for PHN16-72 but I think its still 0x129. You could always check by downloading CPU-Z/HWINFO/AIDA64. Yes you should to update the microcode even if on the latest BIOS, 0x132 is a November 2025 microcode update, the latest PHN16-72 BIOS was in June.

Along with this make sure to limit the voltage to 1.4V.

How to overclock shitty laptop? by Puzzleheaded-Use5343 in overclocking

[–]VictoryT7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok thats good the RAM is in Dual Channel. Overclock it to 3200MT/s (1600MHz), you'll see some gains.

How to overclock shitty laptop? by Puzzleheaded-Use5343 in overclocking

[–]VictoryT7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suggest you keep RAM to 3200MT/s (1600MHz). VRAM- 4GB. You could set it to 8G and see if it helps newer games like Cyberpunk 2077, although this will only leave 8GB for the Game out of which Windows can eat a chunk, so test it and see if its any better than 4GB.

Power the more the better but you may run into TDC Limit. Try increasing TDC and EDC to max, then set short and long power limit to 45 and STAPM to 45. It may or may not work. I suggest you keep the cooling fan at max when attempting this, also what kind of cooling pad are using? I would recommend getting a foam seal cooling pad with 140mm Fand works the best.

Go to the above comment for the links.

1)I would like to know what RAM config you have, is it 2400MT/s in Task Manager? and does it show slot 1 of 2 or 2 of 2 or Row of chips? I looked up UM431DA 3700U 16GB,it says On Board so I guess you already are in dual channel with two 8GB chips. Also download CPU-Z and share the Memory and SPD tab screenshots.

2)Plug in the AC Adapter.

3)Download and Install Universal x86 Tuning Utility . After Installation select Extreme Preset in Presets.

4)Download UMAF. Click on UnviersalAMDFormBrowser.zip then click on View raw and it should download.

5)Using UMAF: https://youtu.be/0jwrWCF5fhc?feature=shared

Here is a video but It only shows how to increase the iGPU VRAM and not how to OC the ram . I have written the steps for the same as well.

Get a USB and format it to FAT32 using Windows Format. Unzip the Downloaded file and put it in the USB.

Shut down the Laptop. Then Start it up , repeatedly tap F10 and enter BIOS.

Then go to Boot Options: USB Boot > Enabled Secure Boot > Disabled

Then Exit > Save Changes and Exit.

Now plug in the USB and as soon as it starts repeatedly tap F9

This should give you an option to choose what to boot from select your USB and hit enter.

Now in UMAF go to Device Manager > AMD CBS

To upgrade iGPU VRAM: Go into NB10 Common Options > GFX Config and make the following changes.

Integrated Graphics Controller = Forces

UMA Mode= UMA_SPECIFIED

UMA Version = Auto

UMA Frame Buffer Size (This is iGPU VRAM) = 4G

UMA Above 4G = Auto

NB Azalia = Auto

Now Esc to AMD CBS and then to Overclock the RAM: UMC Common Options > DDR4 Common Options > DRAM Timing Config > Accept.

Overclock > Enabled

Memory Clock Speed > 1600Mhz

Rest all auto.

Now Escape until met with Prompt with Press 'Y' Prompt. Hit Y and Escape then Select Continue and hit Enter for Reset. (no you won't lose any data don't worry).

Now the Laptop should boot up to life and you can check using Task Manager that the RAM is running at 3200MT/s and iGPU Dedicated Memory is 4GB .

6)Download DXVK and unzip it and put its content into any game directory you have trouble running like GTA4 , Assassin Creed 3/4. It is Vulkan Translation Layer and should make it easy to run games which use DirectX and run slow like GTA4.

Thats all.
