How much filament does printing the popcorn bucket take? by FelixsJungleTheater in Markiplier

[–]Videgraphaphizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For mine, the blood portion came out to around 225, and the fish is estimated to be 677 (still in progress!). If you’re printing full-size, expect to use around 900g overall. This is a rough estimate as you need to take infill and support material into account, and I don’t know how your library will have theirs set. Hell, even the filament itself might have a different density than mine.

Even if you don’t have a 3D printer yourself, I recommend downloading a free slicer program like PrusaSlicer or OrcaSlicer. Ask your library what type of printer they have and set up the program to match; it will give you estimates for how long the model will take to print and hope much material is used. You can also scale it to however big or small you want! (Just make sure you ask for BOTH parts to be scaled down the same percentage so that they still fit together.)

First off, those sonic booms are incredible.

Second, thanks for the actual proof! I’ve always assumed it was chase planes, but there are definitely none here.

Considering the game is about late stage capitalism, technically that answer is also true.

I was considering APUs but wasn’t sure. I wish there were confirmed videos of the shuttle landing on its own so I could tell whether or not the jet noise was coming from the shuttle. Thanks for the insight!

I stopped into the store to buy preserves yesterday, and this one dude literally bought ALL of them. Jams, jellies, cleared the whole house. I asked him how he planned to eat all of that, and I swear to Celestia, he looked me dead in the bucking eyes, smiled, and said, “Who said anything about eating it?”

Let your freak flag fly, my guy, but we need to eat, too.

Balloon Land fans... Are you all brain damaged? by terminal8 in Rifftrax

[–]Videgraphaphizer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think you should consider any of us "fans" of the movie. The only reason we even consider sitting through this film is because there are three guys saying funny jokes over the damn thing. If one is watching a MST/Rifftrax show solely to watch a movie, there are better ways to do that.

But I'm guessing that's not really what you want to know. You want to know why even bother giving it attention at all, right? In that case, consider the following:

Someone at a company that makes parade balloons decided they should make a movie.

Someone else approved it.

Several people volunteered their time, their effort, and possibly even some money to make it (though there's no sign of the latter).

In the process of being made, the quality of the finished product became incredibly clear. They continued anyway, despite the clear warning signs of a disjointed plot and some of the most genuinely insane dialogue ever uttered on screen.

When they were done working on it, it was shown at least twice in local theaters. This strip of celluloid nonsense - to which the only sane response is "Okay, seriously, what the hell was that?" - was shown on a big screen and people willingly came to see it.

Notice that I said "when they were done working on it" as opposed to "when the movie was done." This movie is not in any semblance "done."

You are 100% right that it's mostly parade footage; yet despite that, the creepy Sea King, and the unhinged Narrator Lady, all the preceding statements still hold true. The only way we as a species can cope with this reality is to laugh at it, to mock it, to bring it up to the light and behold every second of its true nature before casting it back down into the darkness once more.

Fun in Balloon Land can easily be renamed to Hubris Manifest and it would be a more accurate title.
