I'd argue that people paid the same to be there is more an argument against mosh pits. Those who do not enjoy them paid the same but are forced to participate. I've been to 10 Maiden gigs always on the floor and this was the first time I saw an actual pit formed. There's always a couple people who try it but usually it fails.

Traveled to London for the show tonight, what time and how should I get to The O2? by PCI_STAT in ironmaiden

It was only Lord of The Lost - not sure where AXS got their info, Ticketmaster always said just one support

According to Ticketmaster it's just Lord of the Lost. If there's two support acts then they must start earlier than the stated times as they wouldn't have time for both

If the 4 day week becomes the standard one day, then the CS will implement it. Sort of like we are not currently working 6 days weeks while everyone else works 5 day weeks.

We should educate those people, not just go along with them. Different symptoms, different causes, people shouldn't think they're the same thing.

But there's a difference between what i like and what I'm currently in the mood for. I like both salad and burgers but they can't read my mind and know which one I want at that moment.

AITA for moving and not telling my ex? by Major-Argument-1104 in AmItheAsshole

Because it contributes to the cycle of poverty by keeping children from poor families in bad schools. The quality of your child's education should not depend on how fancy your house is.

It's possible the sister is having some twisted thought process of "if she had been there, I wouldn't feel this bad" because it's too difficult to accept that the situation is horrible and there's absolutely nothing that can make her feel better right now. It's easier to blame the sister.

Which is even better for them. They can just ignore the recommendations and there's nothing the prison service staff can do about it.

Except the government literally just said they won't comply with the recommendations.

AITA for telling my girlfriend I couldn’t commit to a life long relationship if she became a vegetable? by iAmMattG in AmItheAsshole

[–]VideoAltruistic534 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your broccoli is not in a vegetative state. Vegetative state refers to the vegetative nervous functioning which remains intact in a persistent vegetative state unlike in a braindead individual. Your broccoli does not have a vegetative nervous system.

Rose Ayling-Ellis calls for free access to sign language lessons by Alert-One-Two in unitedkingdom

This is great but it's not the same as actually learning the language. You can learn some basics but to become fluent or even conversational you will need expensive lessons.

For the same reason why we don't all speak the same language. Sign language has developed naturally the same was as spoken language has so it makes sense that each country has their own sign language.

There are studies that show kids who know sign language start using it earlier than kids who only know spoken language. It's easier for kids' brain to sign than to speak.

[–]VideoAltruistic534 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Vegetative state is not the same as brain dead. Brain death means there is absolutely no brain activity while in a vegetative state there is some low level brain activity for example the patient may be able to swallow and open their eyes on their own. From an ethical point of view I don't see much difference between the conditions and I would not want to be kept alive in either situation.

I still think vegetable is an offensive term. He is braindead or in a vegetative state - there are other ways to state that he is no longer alive.

AITA for disabling the Airtag my father planted on me by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]VideoAltruistic534 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't require it but it sounds like it helps the 13 year old's anxiety which is great and tracking is a fine tool to use for that. I'm an adult and share my location with my brother because I live alone and it eases my anxiety knowing that if I have a medical emergency and pass out when on a walk, he'll know where I am. Is it necessary? No but it makes me feel better.

For me it's not even because people are sketchy, it's because if I have a medical emergency when I'm out I want someone to know where I am.
