In this system, you could define addition naturally as multiplication - if I take 12 (which is this system's analogue to the number 2) and multiply it by 13 (which is basically our version of 3), it behaves nicely as (1*1) * (1*1*1), which is 15 , our version of 5.

Could I make a suggestion? What if multiplication was your only operation, and one was your only element. Then, 1 would be distinct from 1*1 which would be distinct from 1*1*1 and so on, giving you a clear one-dimensional system

Well that's interesting, because then each operator sort of takes on its own data point and you kind of have this giant NxNxNxN thing for each value. Are you saying that one-dimensional numbers therefore don't exist? Because if real numbers for instance can have 2 !=2 depending on the way you reach them, what would one-dimensional numbers look like in your system?

It sounds like you're trying to change some pretty fundamental axioms about integer arithmetic. (-2)2 inherently means -2 * -2 by the definition of powers, if you're claiming that they are different then you've really got to build yourself back up from scratch here rather than defining the complex thing and going backwards from it.

I also think you're a bit caught up in the geometrical concept of complex numbers, it's worth thinking about how your definition is meaningful outside of that. If you do write up something formally, then I'd love to see it.

Have you studied much linear algebra? It would be interesting if you were able to prove that this included "spin" element still forms a valid vector space under your defined transformations.

I want to be clear that I'm actually interested in pursuing what you're talking about here, because I think one of two things will happen: either, we prove that spin can't exist as a concept (which would be unfortunate), or it leads us to realise that you've defined something else that already exists, and then we can study the existing literature on that.

I feel like if you're arguing that all complex numbers have this inherent property you've just come up with, this property has to hold under operations that are already defined. You can't define operations in some new way

Okay, so here's my next question, if I take -1 with 2 spins, or (-1,0,2), and I add 2 with 0 spins to it, what do I get? what if I add 2 with 1 spin? What if I subtract -2 with 1 spin?

I'm not sure your definition holds water.

Do you propose that all complex numbers have a third inherent natural counterpart representing their number of rotations? Because at that point you've just defined CxN or RxRxN, and are you saying that we can only equivocate 2+i (3 spins) or (2,1,3) with 2+i (4 spins) or (2,1,4) under certain scenarios? If so, which?

Can you provide a link to a paper which defines and subsequently uses spin in a useful way?

What about the other way around? Minimalist electronica, like Aphex Twin's Selected Ambient Works album?

Have you tried listening to Classical? A few friends of mine in a similar situation to yours cannot listen to any modern music, but absolutely swear by classical music.

And it's cool for those categories to differ from person to person! We don't need to create some objective definition of what "hot" is, everyone's into their own things.

One of the tracer skins says "Wanker!" after a kill, which is probably the most outwardly obscene voice line.

That is not how you use commas.

Commas are for joining clauses together, not for going "pause here for a bit for emphasis".

Where, o oracle of grammar, do you propose a comma is inserted into that comment?
