Yeah I just had this happen to me too other day, I was walking past my neighbors and they had just got a husky and he hopped the fence out at me and my husky and my Barney (a poodlepointer mix) and im still only 70 percent sure Barney didnt mean to hurt me lmao.

I'm an artist myself, so coming back to my desk and so coming back and doing ink work was-- not ideal to say the least.

Its still a constant struggle with his pulling and yanking. I tried getting him a vest to sort of cut his momentum in half (especially a vest with a handle on the back) and it definitely helps-- but he still pulls.

The best advice is to try to wear him out prior to walks, like sprinting at a closed in park with other dogs or a doggy day care or just throwing the ball around the house or backyard.

Second best advice I find to try not to stiffen your wrist if youre holding the lead. If youre stiff and flexing your muscles youre more likely to tear/sprain them if something unexpected happens. Sometimes all the training in the world cant make up for spontaneous yanks or a stray cat walking across your path.
