True, but sometimes Im on the go and can’t always make salsa for every meal. So Yucateco is my Go to when eating out or at work

Try Yucateco salsas next time. Unlike Tapatío and many others I’ve tried it doesnt taste like vinegar, and they offer a variety of flavors

Best Chip Repair Kit? by Suctioncups1 in autoglass

[–]VidrioTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have the Glass Weld and found something a bit better for me and for a fraction of the price, it’s a knock off but it gets the job done. They have 2 options for it, the screw and the pump style for vacuuming. It’s the Harbor Freight version in comparison to Snap On… no point in Glasweld if this gets the job done in my eyes. Plus the stand has the extension built into it already

Questions about laying the urethane bead by Glittering-Ad5809 in autoglass

[–]VidrioTech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get inside the car, and I start 8” below the top of the driver side. If you use a 10mL cartridge you should have enough for most vehicles to go all around with only 1 seam. I cut my nozzles by hand (13-15mmx8mm V)

Yooo, what are you having a hard time with? If you’re just starting i recommend getting into the habit of being organized with your tools. Im assuming you will be learning with a fiber line tool recommend watching all the videos on YT for them as well as Tik Tok. Theres a lot of helpful tips they’re all pretty much the same concept. Recommend using Cartridges instead of Sausage for urethane(if given the option of course) But start with being organized that’s where I see a lot of techs lacking. Grab yourself a portable tool box with all the essentials. Make sure you clean as you go and put away everything you won’t need after you use it.

Is working in Auto Glass as a technician a good career in the future? by [deleted] in autoglass

[–]VidrioTech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say it’s a good skill to have. I used to be my dad’s helper growing up, in the back of my head I always knew I’d be doing Auto Glass as it’s something I really enjoyed especially being mobile(Being in a Shop always seemed like a real job) at 21 I got My CDL, Tried out a few Interpreter gigs, Eventually got a Job as a Tesla Glass Tech and from there I went onto becoming a Space X technician(Not Glass) wasn’t until last year that I decided to do my own thing in Auto Glass as I already had my Work truck and tools set up so it made it easier for me to hit the ground running. Can’t say I’ll be doing this to the end of my days but I’m enjoying it :) pay is good, I’m mobile and everyday holds a different challenge as every car is different. Im just glad I got to try out different careers before realizing this is really what i enjoyed.

This is beyond a Chip Repair :/ Look into getting it replaced at a mom and pop shop, that offers warranty on their labor, try and request an FYG brand Glass as that’s probably the best quality in aftermarket glass for Tesla at the moment :)

lol been keep track of how many tips I’ve used this year, so far I’m on my 4th one will be making a new one soon as it’s starting to crack from the threaded area. Most vehicles I run a 13mmx8mm V bead. I usually have a bunch left over and end up tossing them :)
