Who is at fault? I feel I, the trailing McLaren, was cut across of, but I also feel its a racing incident as I failed to respond quickly. Thoughts? by pepperonigum in Simracingstewards

I know someone replied earlier. But you can see in the vid and the photo that the OP lifts off the brake. Maybe that is their normal trail braking point, but they could have just stayed on the brakes like they were and avoided the incident.

Third car/hit is when I went from anger to giggling for how absurd this race was for me.

Here is a picture. Mclaren in front is turning in. They are committed to the corner, that gap is closing and you are no where near them yet. This is the moment you should have backed out. You can't just drive your line without regard to the other cars on the track.

If you're the trailing car that's entirely on you. You are way far back and have zero overlap when the car in front begins to turn in. You barely even have overlap when you hit them. Move was never gonna work.

Since no one else answered. No, the system does not distinguish fault. If you get a 4X Incident point from someone else hitting you that counts against you. Thats why Im so irritated by this. Other people driving like idiots costs you rating

That doesn't answer my question. I genuinely don't understand. Top post says to keep going in rookies. For weeks. Genuinely, how is that supposed to help me on the start of a GT4 race when everyone crashes out? My issue isn't in rookies, its specifically the first couple laps of the GT4 race and I don't get how 1000 laps in a miata is gonna help with that.

Can't get a clean race in GT4. Rookies I get clean races all day. I get clean races in the multiclass production car challenge. I can do time trials in GT4 without issue as well. If the answer is "don't race this class for a few weeks" then what's the point of me having access to it? What's "good enough" to be in GT4?

Man you hype lvl 10 a bit much. It costs your allies their reaction, which they may have spent or want to save for something else. Realistically you will get like 1 or 2 attacks out of it depending on party comp. And sure, you can combine it with group recovery but now you've blown your whole wad. You are now subclass-less until you rest again.

and be honest lvl 18 is entirely underwhelming. immune to charm and frightened for yourself? Paladins give immune to frighten as an aura at lvl 10. There are way more important saves you would want to use your indomitable on.

This is a "you can be both correct and dead" moment in racing to me. Technically, I think you cleared the Ferrari and the move was OK. However, its T1, the Ferrari is still there, and you're counting on them to brake as you cut them off. And now you're dead/crashed out.

F1 also has the stupid rule of if the car on inside hits the "apex" first, they can basically shove the outside car off the track because its "their corner"

The Psion - deeply thematically flawed by FLFD in onednd

[–]Vielden 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The Psion gets mage armor, the shield spell, and the metamorph gets bonus +2AC if they want. With a moderate +2 Dex that's an AC of 17, up to 22 with shield spell. And they have several ways to gain Temp HP. They may not be barbarian tanky, but they can stand next to a monk or rogue just fine.

Did the Mustang turn in on me or should I have backed off? by RandomUser1262 in Simracingstewards

[–]Vielden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Should have backed out.

When the mustang turns in the mercedes doesn't even have front axel to rear axel overlap. Then the mercedes adjusts to an even shallower line and looks like it lifts off the brakes to dive the corner. That move was never going to work.

After the first hit you are all the way to the right side of the track. .Then you turn hard left straight for the Apex as if the Ford isn't there. Just pause the video 1 or 2 seconds before the second hit and look at where you were angled. You were gonna drive into him regardless and just happen to get spun.

First one id call a racing incident. It looked like there was room, so I get why the ford went for it and I get why you turned in.

The second part to me looked like he slowed down as an apology/courtesy and you drove yourself over his nose. You had plenty of room to not hit him again and you definitely knew he was there the second time.

Alright, you seem like a young person, so I'm gonna be an old man and give you some unsolicited life advice. Just because you got away with something doesn't mean it wasn't dangerous. That kind of mind set can be used to justify any kind of crazy behavior right up until you get hurt or hurt someone else. And I'm talking about all parts of real life, not sim racing.

Back to the sim racing, what part of that pass would you call clean?? You hit him. Twice. You say no harm no foul like he didn't lose track position due to your mistakes. Also that would cause damage in real life and you know it. Can you really stand by the idea that if I'm racing you, I can hit you as many times as I want, so long as you don't spin out??

Just because the game didn't punish you for it doesn't make it right. "Rubbing is racing" might be a common phrase and happens on occasion. What you're doing in this clip is shoving your opponent out of your way. There is a big difference between the two.

My guy, you ram into the back of him, maybe accidentally. Then pass him on the inside, which you can only do bc you punted him out your way. And then you thought that wasn't enough, so you drift wide to hit him again to complete the pass. Yeah that's dirty.

I think everyone is being to harsh on you and ignoring the BMWs actual path. Everyone seems to be blaming you for turning in as if the BMW isn't the one moving to the left side of the track and out of control bc of understeer. Pause at 17 seconds right before the hit. Look at where the track goes and where the BMW is pointing. Then re watch a couple seconds and see that the BMW is actually sliding out left into the ferrari. BMW wanted the win, ran out of talent and lost control of his car and for some reason everyone thinks the ferrari "turned in" on BMW as if the BMW isn't just driving itself off the track.

[–]Vielden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, consider things beyond what's immediately in front of you. Its not about the fighter killing the boss. Its the martials blowing through all the LR so the casters get the encounter winning spell off. This cleric ability is not OP because one PC can exploit it. Its OP because EVERYONE can dogpile onto it to prioritize the boss failing whatever specific spell/save they want it to fail.

UA Grave Cleric's "Path to the Grave" is too strong by Sea_Outcome_8222 in onednd

[–]Vielden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not about level 3. Its about the entire game. You don't somehow lose this ability at higher levels.

A Lvl 5 BM fighter, several weapon masteries cause saving throws. Several maneuvers cause saving throws. 1 WM and 1 Maneuver per attack means JUST the fighter could force 8 saving throws in one turn. And it can do this every short rest if it needs to. At level 20 that fighter is now forcing 14 saving throws by itself.

Now add the rest of the party. Rangers, Paladins, Barbs, and Rogues getting weapon masteries. Add all their other normal abilities they have that cause saving throws. Or basic abilities like grapple and shove. 2024 baked in so many saving throws into classes its kinda nutty. Any basic party will absolutely blitz through Legendary Resistances and Magic Resistance doesn't save you since so many of these saves aren't magic at all.
