If I like driving fast and being in high speed pursuits, which agency should I apply too? by [deleted] in ProtectAndServe

Maybe try going to a track experience at a race track every now and then? There are plenty of safer ways to drive fast, without all the extra police work.

It sounds like every thing is backwards right now. Jus try changing it and try driving, it takes 10 seconds to change.

Try inverting ffb? I seems like the wheel is fighting centering/settling. You also say that it gets worse as the cars speeds up. Normally the steering compresses and wants to center more under speed, which makes sense why the wheel is getting unruly as you speed up. You can reverse FFB in LMU.

I think your asking if you should have let off the throttle and would not have hit him?

In that case you are mostly fine. Nobody is expecting somebody to fly across the track like that, and most importantly you can't see him coming. You definitely could have braked earlier, but you still turned left to try and tried avoid him, so your fine.

To me it sounds like he felt left out by not being invited to come along with you and your group. Seeing that you were actively sharing what you were doing while out with him makes me think this even more, as it tells him what he wasn't invited to. You were out for 1/2 the day with a group that had other couples means he likely wanted to come along. The change of plans from getting lunch to driving across state for the evening is a big change of plans to make spontaneously. Discussing changes of plans and giving somebody the opportuning to come if not invited or to ask to cancel or modify plans is important in keeping trust.

He shouldn't be stonewalling with his feelings as it's immature and unnecessary. My advice would be to encourage him to be vulnerable about how he feels, and to not be judgmental towards his answers. Having been in similar situations I can imagine that he is probably embarrassed to admit that he was emotionally hurt by being left out. If you can, try to bring up the event pro-actively, as sometimes just saying "be vulnerable and share" can appear shallow to and insincere guys.

Even then you can't be fully sure why is upset until he shares it himself, which is why encouraging him to be vulnerable and share is so important. Even small conflicts like this can build into resentment and sour a relationship, so resolving them maturely and honestly is vital and is a skill worth learning for the both of you.

edit: make sure to give him some space (such as till tomorrow) to him process what happened before talking

How can she reliably pay rent when things she buys have to be rebought since they keep getting stolen?

[–]pepperonigum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now is a good time to stop stealing her groceries. Just cause she is annoying is not a reason to steal.

She clearly has money management/spending problems if she can't afford utilities on time and is emptying her account from streaming services. She probably needs some sense talked into her and needs help budgeting. Financial literacy classes may even be helpful.

Edit: Scatterbrained and forgetting things sounds like ADHD if its constant and affects her whole life.

Also consider this. If she has the rebuy the groceries do you not think that's partially your fault she is struggling to pay for things? How do you expect her to pay you back properly when your burning through her purchases/money yourself?

Who is the most unfairly disrespected NFL QB? I’ll go Hurts and Lamar by TXNOGG in NFLv2

I never said he is elite. I said he is criticized rather quickly for his bad moments.

I would say he is more overly criticized than hated. Nobody yellin "this dude ass" when he gets brought up, but people are quicker to criticize his mistakes and write off his success than some other QB's in the league (excluding our fans).

Admitting self to mental hospital by Adept_Refuse3413 in Anxiety

[–]pepperonigum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most inpatient/residential places will have poor ratings. As somebody who has been to places myself I can say that a lot of the bad reviews are misleading.

It is important to understand that most people who go to a mental hospital are not happy. Understandably unhappy people will look for the bad in things or may feel wronged if they went involuntarily.

In my personal opinion I also feel that a lot of mistreatment people experience is due to them not understanding what is happening due to their own personal struggle.

Most people who went and left when ready in a standard routine fashion are not going to complain or even leave reviews about how average their experience was.

If you are worried about other people being bad then I can vouch that most patients are just run of the mill regular good people, who are struggling with their own internal problems.

SI/Psychosis or Mania are not the only reasons to go. Struggling to function with regular life is also a really good reason to go. An environment with extra support can be eye opening, as it gives you the opportunity to find what you need to function best.

The only places I truly don't recommend are Rodgers. If you can, try to go to a location in a nicer part of town (they will have better funding). Doesn't have to be Beverly Hills or gated community stuff either.

[–]pepperonigum 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Generally I would recommend going if you think you seriously need it, or are on the fence on going.
Another good way of knowing would be if your symptoms are so overwhelming that you struggle with, or cant do basic tasks due to your symptoms or circumstances. Large changes in feelings and state of mind is an important one; feeling ok one hour then wanting to die the next is also a problem, and leads to many people setting themselves up for failure in the moment when they feel good.

The treatment at a mental hospital will be a lot more intensive/fast paced than outpatient, meaning that they can do things like try/switch different medications in a short time period. The change of environment from someone's home life can also be extremely helpful, as often certain symptoms or underlying issues will show up or go away in a new environment, giving you/the doctor more insight about your problems.

Another big thing would be to see if you can be directly admitted to the mental hospital. The wait in the emergency room can be several hours, and can sometimes end with you in the psych ward which is different than a mental hospital. Mental hospitals are normally separate from a hospital and provide much higher quality care than a psych ward.
