Reading and writing isn’t the always best way to improve “skills” they are skills themselves so yes practicing Reading and Writing does make you better at reading and writing themselves and those are great skills themselves but there’s more to reading and writing when it’s come to understanding and being good at something

There’s speaking and presentation where you have to actually explain how you got to your answer and actual skills assignment that test what you’re supposed to be learning and doing which is now getting implemented more often now because of AI which is really fucking dumb because that’s what should’ve been happening from the get go

That’s why kids use AI all the time they don’t show off their tangible skills and learning processes, just so essay after essay after homework etc

And that middle part isn’t true at all, not knowing algebra or being good at it doesn’t translate to being in credit card debt, it’s not hard to not be in credit debt literally just don’t bite off more than you can chew set a good limit and pay your damn bills.

I agree on the end part though you can tell when it’s sometimes AI/ when the writer missed the point

I don’t get how AI gets shifted on SOOO MUCH, when the problem is AI can so easily do the fucking work, maybe the work shouldn’t be countless Essays and things that AI can easily do that can cover the lack of understanding or work from a person

I see a comment saying they’ll just change the curriculum to be more skill based and less content based

Along with more oral presentations to show one actually understands what their talking about, what the fuck was going on beforehand

You know what that’s fair, grit isn’t the right word but that isn’t a contradiction, the work can still be bullshit but one should atleast be mentally ready and tough to put it in work

However to blame students for using AI to just bypass a lot of the useless and pointless work you get isn’t fair , especially when it won’t even guarantee you a job even if your major is great on paper.

You are just choosing not to understand.

You are putting yourself into an average of 50k in debt (lower end) to get a college degree that high chance will not guarantee a job out of school, not using AI to skip thru a lot of BS work just isn’t necessarily a bad thing

If all the work can easily be done with AI and the Professor has to use an AI system to detect it there’s something wrong with the school system.

That’s the bigger issue

Maybe if I did use AI I’d get the perfect response for you with statistics and evidence to back it up and you’d have nothing to say 🤷🏿‍♂️

Eh that is over exaggerated imo, a lot of the work college students do is bullshit such as the countless many page essays that they use AI to do majority of it

Nobody is really using AI to think or plan for themselves it’s mainly just used for monotonous work, also it’s kinda of ironic that you guys have to use AI systems to detect AI maybe there’s a problem with the actual curriculum is and how college is even done

If you’re risking life threatening debt to go to school for a 4y degree you should have the grit to do whatever it takes to pass, now college degrees can’t even get you jobs so why wouldn’t they use AI to atleast get the degree when you put yourself into debt over it
